Well i dont know if my little boys changed position or has had a growth spurt or what but he was kicking me yesterday and his feet were like little knifes. he was poking right out of my stomach and whenever he kicked i'd literally be grounded to the spot in pain.
I know its only him kicking but should it hurt this much, and will this be the case now for the next 10 weeks? surely he's only going to get bigger and stronger.
I know kickings a great thing and reassuring to us all, it just feels like he's going to burst through the skin
Thanks for any replies :)

I don't have any advice but I get this as well. Its like the baby's trying to kick and punch its way out of my tummy and yes it can be painful although I wouldn't describe what I feel as knives. I think this is part of the joys of 3rd tri.

Hun I have been feeling the painful kicks like that for weeks now too! I still think she is going to burst thrugh my skin lol It is so painful! :( It makes me so sad! She kicks me at the top of my tum and drags her knees across and it seriously hurts, then when she wiggles her arms about it hurts my hips and lower tum (because of the SPD) and I get so upset sometimes that I cant just enjoy feeling her move around as much as I should because of the pains! :(

at least i know im not the only one then. that does help. i can understand it making you feel a bit sad i feel like i should be appreciating and celebrating every movement but its so painfull i just want it to stop or go back to the kicks i liked that were strong but didnt hurt.
Could i try and get him to change position or anything do you think?

Lola changes postition all the time from back to back to lying on my side to facing my spine and they all still hurt :( I guess its just something I have to put up with until she is born! :? My belly feels bruised kwim? Its painful to touch, when the MW presses and wiggles it really really hurts! She said its not exactly normal but its ok as long as i dont bleed or anything!? :? lol

I will have very nice faint movements, which I enjoy..then Bubs will move position and kick the crap outt ame. seriously makes me jump and shout out!!
My Mum was holding my bump yesterday, and there was such a large elbow jab even she said "ouch"
