Hello everyone.. Hope you don't mind me posting here. Just wanted to tell you all my experience.

I was browsing through the TTC threads last night and came across the magic medicine threads. I had no idea what this was as I had never heard of it. After reading it I didnt think much more of it.

Today I was having a bit of a clear out and came across a bottle of benelyn cough medicine that I had been taking on holiday (10 weeks ago!) Well yip... you've guest it.. it contains the magic ingredient (sorry cant remember how to spell it!)...That was the week that I conceived!!!

If it has anything to do with my falling pregnant then it must be pretty amazing stuff. I had only stopped taking my pill 3 weeks before and have PCOS so assumed it might be a bit harder to fall pregnant.

I'd say it's definitely worth a try! xx

:rotfl: Well i bought a bottle of asda's own the other day, (they had loads of the shelf here, must still be a secret in scotland.... :? ) Anywho, glad it seems to have worked for you and the loads of ladies on the TTC old posts who used it..... I believe there must be more to it than chance... oh and congratulations on your PG  lv Yvonne xx

Hey fynemum...
I definitely think it must still be a secret in Scotland! I'd never heard of it till I read this forum btw..Im in Glasgow too!
Good luck with it xx

i am in East kilbride :cheer: just outside glasgow, so i will keep youn informed?  Lv Yvonne xx

Hi ladies!

Magic Med does help conception..not just by chance ...

The active ingredient is Guafenesin.

In the book by Toni weschler, one of the vital aids in achieving the correct cervical mucus for conception was Guafenesin, it thins out the mucus and lets the spermies swim easier to the egg. :D

Obviously she doesn't tell us to go out buy med but the reason this med works is that the only active ingredient is Guafenesin and the cough medicine is the most accessible and cheapest pure form that we can get this in.

I took this for one month prior and during ovulation and that was the month I got my BFP too.

I was very very synical about this before..but not when I'd read the book! :D

Good luck ladies

Congrats!

I'll deff have to try this stuff out if not caught this time.

I didn't know so many people here were from Scotland, Lanarkshire, I'm in Coatbridge :)

And what kinds of things actually contain the ingredient?

only thing that i know of are cough med's as they thin out mucus on the chest...

I've just been taking it this month the Sainsbury's one is nice but I ran out and bought the Boots one which is yeuck :puke: but only really have to take it for one more day. I think I ov'ed yesterday had the pains and am on day 11 of my cycle I generally ov between 9-11 so keeping my fingers crossed and will be down on my knees praying for the next 2 weeks.

Hey all.... Well all your stories have given me hope ... I tried the meds a couple of months ago and it didn't seem to make any difference .... although I'm not sure I was taking it religously enough!! So I'm on it again this month .. worth a shot! I'm not charting this time so I don't know when I'll ov ... but feeling so much more relaxed this month!!

I know of others who used the magic gloop and fell pg on the 1st month of using it! So fingers crossed hey ...

it worked for me too, it really is worth a try ladies. :cheer:

Others have said that they were 'gushing' (sorry .. tmi  ) ... but I still haven't noticed any difference ... and I'm due to ov any day now!?!?

Unless I'm having another off cycle month and maybe I'm not due to ov soon atall!??!?

Hi Bec, (great name  )

I will be trying the magic med too, this will also be my first month trying to concieve. I'm due AF around the 11th and we will be ttv after that. I'll be using the Magic Medicine. Let's keep in touch on progress :)

Becs

Hey Becs! :D

Cool .... Well I'm due to ov anytime now ... or I may have already ... so fingers crossed the meds had worked for me this time! Have you been TTCing at all? I know you said you're starting after your next AF but is there a chance that AF might not arrive? I think I'm due AF around 18th Nov so we're only a week apart ..

I normally chart but I'm having a month off this month ... hence why I don't know whether I've ov'd or not ... I'll change my ticker when I think I've actually ov'd! I'm still using OPKs .. but I'm still getting negatives at the moment

Anyway - here's to Magic Med .. cheers girls *takes a swig* ..
