“For Madison”

The autumn you appeared
My life began.
Always and ever
The world to me.
Three weeks apart
Your homecoming so special

My eternal promise
Through ups and downs
That have been
And yet to come
I will always be
Mum

And daddy
Whose eyes you echo
Loves you as
His little princess

Our unbreakable bond
Gets stronger everyday
Sometimes as you sleep
I have to come watch you

Once so tiny
So fragile
So breakable
But everyday
You blossom
Into strength
And learning
And beauty
And love

Your deep blue eyes
Dark curly hair
You safe in my arms
I feel warmed
Nothing matters
But us
Together

Watching you grow
First smile
First giggle
All that's new
To you
My child
My angel
My teacher
My heart
For always
Your Mum
