A good poem that my sister in law can read out at her mum,s funeral?

I been looking and only found a couple, as im looking for something thats not too long!

So far i have found these two

Always Mum

You were my fairy tale princess,
So much larger than life.
You were my angel and my witness
Through all my pain and strife.
At times you made me angry,
Great words I would proclaim
How someday you'd be sorry.
You were the one to blame.
But when I needed comforting
You always found the time.
Your words were more soothing
Than days of childhood sublime.
Now the distance holds us apart,
The boundaries have no end.
I'll hold the memories in my heart.
You're my mother, my best friend.

A POEM FOR MY MOTHER
I miss you so much,
your laugh, your smile, your touch.
You always brightened my days
with all the smiles you sent my way.
I need you as my angel
to always be at my side.
I need you as my angel
to give me peace of mind.
I like to think your near to me
to know that you are there.
Even though I can not see you,
I feel that you are near.
Please do not forget me mum,
for you are always in my heart,
my thoughts and prayers.
I love you.

If anyone can help i would be very gratful

I dont know any, but that 2nd one is beautiful... I am sitting here in floods of tears at it.

yea i like that one too,

DH is doing the eulogy at the church service and she just wanted a poem to read out at the crem!

i think ill give her a ring and see if she likes it, i thought if i had a few she could choose one

what about :

They say memories are golden well maybe that is true. I never wanted memories, I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you, a million times I cried. If love alone could have saved you you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane, I'd walk the path to heaven and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

or this one is for a mum

God looked around his garden
And saw an empty space.
He then looked down upon this earth
And saw your smiling face.

God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
For an unknown reason he took you
up to heaven, and shielded you with grace.

It broke our hearts to see you go,
But you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

They are lovely tnx.

I might put one of those on the card for the flowers

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, 'Peace be Thine'.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

This is a similar one to the one someone suggested above, I read this at my nan's funeral. xx

A poem that was read at my best friends mums funeral.
'You Can Shed Tears That She Has Gone'

You can shed tears that she has gone,
Or you can smile that she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all that she's left you.

Your heart can be empty becasue you can't see her,
Or your heart can be filled with the love you've shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesturday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesturday.

You can remember her and only that she's gone, or you can cherish and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what she would want, smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Love never disappears for death is a non-event.

I have merely retired to the room next door.

You and I are the same; what we were for each other, we still are.

Speak to me as you always have, do not use a different tone, do not be sad.

Continue to laugh at what made us laugh.

Smile and think of me.

Life means what it has always meant.

The link is not severed.

Why should I be out of your soul if I am out of your sight?

I will wait for you, I am not here, but just on the other side of this path.

You see, all is well.
