Made our own changing dresser

I wanted a chest of draws with changing area on top but you either can only get them in furniture sets which we didn't want as we dont have a nursery yet baby and all her furniture are in our room for now, or they're rediculously expensive! We work in a sawmills so DH said if I brought a chest of draws near enough the right size for changing mat he could make a top to put changing mat on, he finished it yesterday (although he still needs to stain it and varnish it so it matches draws and put the batons on to hold it securely in place) and I think it looks great Im so pleased with how its turned out and it only cost £54 bargin!!! What do you think?

That's ace... I'm in a similar position, I have a wardrobe and a cot so just need a changer but woiuld prefer one that's drawers and all the ones you can buy on their own are always just a table with a shelf.

I might see if I can get my accountat DH to knock something similar up for me.........wish me luck

Hey well done.

We're going to do something similar, we have a wooden cot top changer which looks better on our chest of drawers, so we're going to knock up a few plinths to keep it in place.
