Way before I was pregnant, like even going back years I've always checked my boobs for lumps and in my left one there was always a hard bit of tissue which never concerned me as I know this can be normal. But since I've got pregnant, it seems to have grown and is now quite big and hard. And on the left side if the same boob there's other similar lumps but not as big and different shapes. I can also feel a similar lump on my right boob but it's not as big as that one on the left one. I'm going to ask about it next week when I go to the doctor but could it have something to do with being pregnant, would anyone know? I'm slightly worried because as my boobs are getting bigger, these lumps seem to be getting bigger too. I'm sure I sound like a fool asking the question lol but any advice would be great thanks xxxx

Could just be little balls of tissue or wee cysts that are increasing in size as your boobs grow. Something to mention to your midwife/doctor though hun and get them checked over just to put your mind at ease. If you've had them for a while then I wouldn't be too worried but worth mentioning, not sure if it is linked to pregnancy sorry xxxx

I have a lump under my left arm right in the arm pit, it was there before I was pregnant but has now got bugger and it actually hurts. I went to the Dr yesterday and although he feels it is nothing to worry about her has referred me to see a specialist in the hospital just incase. Its worth getting any lump checked out and I now just wish I had before I was pregnant.

Thank you, I'm getting a bit worried about them so wil def ask about them :( xxxx

Kra can I ask are you still wearing underwire bras? If you are, then the underwire could be causing the hardness, especially if it's not quite fitting right anymore. If it turns out to be nothing (which I'm sure it will) try seeing if a switch to non-wired or nursing bras make it go away. Make sure you get fitted cos obviously ill fitting bras are unkind to your boobs and back at the best of times never mind pregnancy and breastfeeding xx

I get really lumpy breasts whilst pregnant and my doctor told me it's not ideal to check them whilst pregnant. I would still get it checked put though if its something that's worrying you :hugs:

It's probably just the milk glands and your boobs growing, I shouldn't think its anything to be worried about x

A few of my bras are underwired but I tend to wear the ones that aren't now as they are more comfortable! I also need new bras as I have went up at least a cup size or two, so small bras probably aren't helping much. But the lumps are at the top mostly, except the 1s at the side of left boob! Do u think the underwiring could be a problem? I hadn't even considered that! Thank u ladies :) xxxx

You're supposed to wear non-wired to promote healthy milk production, I believe underwires can block your milk glands from growing or something like that (would have to look it up to be more specific, I've just worn non-wired from the start so haven't looked into it). It could be that this is the hardness? But you're right if it's on top of your boobs it's probably not this xx

Oh crap I didn't know that at all! Thanks for letting me know, ill avoid the wire from now on!xxxx

Like simone, i have also been told in the past not to check my breasts during pregnancy as there are so many changes that do and will take place , but I do agree that if it's causing you worry it worth asking a doctors or mw opinion. Good luck xx

I read in my 'what to expect when expecting' book that massaging the lumps in a warm shower everyday can help unblock block milk ducts after a few days, if that's what the lumps are. xx
