Hi I am 8 weeks and for the last week or so I have had a dull ache on and off on the right of my groin - cant work out if it is inside somewhere or if its muscles/ligaments. Midwife said it was probably nothing. Its not stopping me in my tracks or anything but I can feel it quite often, kind of achy but not too sore. Ive not had any bleeding or anything.
Today I have now also got pain in my lower right back, from the top of my bum up to the bottom of my ribs. This pain is more noticable than the one in my groin area - and kind of throbbing/waves of pain.

Having them both at the same time is making me really nervous. I have never been pregnant before so have no idea if this is something i should be worried about.

please let me know what you think.

thanks :help:

Hey Hun, congrats on the pregnancy!!
I am 9 weeks and have noticed a kind of strain/pain in my right thigh/groin for a couPle of weeks now, I had a scan earlier this week as I was worried but everything was all good!! So I think it's quite normal! It's hard to relax though isn't it!

Have you got your 12 week scan booked? X

Thank you :o) totally delighted but so nervous of everything! Congrats to you too, is this your first?

That sounds exactly the same as what I have actually but i didnt know how to describe it! I dont know if the sore back is related or not so will give it a few days and if it doesnt go away then will speak to the doctor.

first scan is on the 19th Sept so still another 4 weeks almost...hoping that will set my mind at rest and I will be able to relax a little after that.

xx

Sounds like your body is releasing a lot of relaxin, which basically softens up the joints in preparation for accommodating the ever expanding uterus and impending birth. Sometimes if a lot is released in one go (totally harmless to the pregnancy), the joints in the back/pelvis/hips etc can loosen a bit which can hurt. It's nothing to worry about and is actually a sign that your body's doing what it should be for baby.

Hope this helps and you can relax a little, congratulations btw!! Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months!! Xxx

Yes this is my first too, so have no idea what to expect!!
I have been having lower back pain on and off since I found out too, it's not severe but I definitely never had it before my bfp!
My scan is Sept 13th so we're not that far apart!!
Have you had any sickness?
I have been nauseous a fair bit and feel rough constantly- I'd describe it as having a permanent hangover!!

oh that is quite close together. we will have to share pics! I havent actually been sick but feel sick most of the time...especially on work days! But I know what you mean about the permanent hangover! I was at a wedding yesterday - not drinking obviously - and feel horrendous today as if I had been! xx
