I had my 12 week dating and nuchal scan on Friday. I was looking through my notes last night from the appointment and saw that the sonographer had noted I have a 'low anterior placenta'. They didn't mention anything about this to me at the appointment but I've done some reading up and understand that this can cause complications during labour. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Yes I had it with my first. I had a scan at 36 weeks and it had moved. Most of them do so don't worry until the time comes. If it doesn't then you would need a c section but like I said most of them turn out okay x

I did and the sonographer didn't tell me either. I had a bleed further down the line that was caused by the low lying placenta but as I didn't know I had this it scared the life out of me. The doctor that seen me was quite cross I hadn't been told about it and warned that this could happen.... I would maybe mention to the midwife when you see her next.

I had some extra scans, mine did move out of the way but left a big blood vessel right across my birth canal so it was a c section for me .... but I know a couple of people who have had this and it's completely moved and everything has been absolutely fine.
