Looking for a new car... advice please!

Personally I prefer a car that has 4/5 doors as I struggle bending in and out trying to do up seat belts or lift car seats out if its a 3 door.....

But then I do have a fat ass and that doesn't help!!! :)

Hubby has a Golf and I find it is a great size!!! I would stick with that until LO is here and then you can see if you really do need the room.....

I really wouldn't recommend a 3 door car, having been in a car accident when ewan was 3 months old, if you need to get baby out quickly a three door is not easy, it was bad enough with a 5 door!

estates are great loads of room for buggies and shopping!
Fords = Fix Or Repair Daily!! i will never have a ford again!! unrealiable!

The best cars are Audi, Volkswagen and Skoda! as they are all made by the same people.

Have a look at the skoda fabia - a turbo diesel will take on most GTIs!
i had a 1.9Tdi and that really shifted would have loved the Vrs but now have a people carrier (a 2.2tdi) that shifts quite well!

we have a renault clio 5 door which is fine and will do its just the pram takes up the whole boot so in my opinion i would look for something with a decent size boot.

i think it depends on everyones personal experiences, i had a Golf Gti before i had the RST and it broke down constantly,

Audi and VW are good cars but expensive to maintain and repair, Skoda are ok if you can look past the badge.... but theyve depreciated shedloads, i wouldnt buy a car thats depreciating as fast as they do

MomNat- yeah you could say im pretty handy when it comes to cars..... i love em

Sassyminx - you do like your cars!!! Sounds like my husband

Ever tried a Puma? Surprisingly a car seat does fit in the back and the pram in the boot!! The Almera will be the main car though. How many cars do you have?

weve only got 2 but im gonna get a new one next year when i get my redundancy money to carry kids about in as dont really like leaving either of ours in car parks etc etc cos of dents n idiots scratching em  we did have 3 cars but got rid of one, as not really using it but will need a replacement at some point

We have a Ford Focus C-max and it's fab with the kids. It's really roomy inside and all of the seats tip forward or you can even remove them so it almost turns into a van! It's great when you need to move furniture etc. :)
