I can't believe it...My mum brought me something for the baby before I am 28 weeks...

She got me this from Argos in the UK, she's just come back from being over there..

Baby Monitor

I'm dead chuffed.... I really wanted one when Tia was born because the whole cot death thing frightens me silly...but back then the sensor mat ones were about 200quid.

Everyone has been saying get a video monitor one, but that doesn't make me feel any better, sometimes Tia would go so quiet in her sleep I would have to shake her to check she was still breathing.... Just looking wasn't enough.

Now my DH on the other hand thinks this is over kill, but this is his first baby, so he might feel a little differently once it pops out... :rotfl:

Does anyone know anything about these sort of monitors?[/url]

I don't know wanything about them, but anything that helps you relax as a parent has to be a good thing!

Thats the one we are going to get, My friend has it & says it is great :cheer: :cheer:

We had a similar one for jonah and it's great you can wake up and see your baby breathing without switching on a light and disturbing him.
Got a HELL of a fright one night when he set the sensor off but he'd just wriggled off the pad- sod!

We have one with a sensor mat they are a god send i love mine its such a piece of mind, what a nice mummy u have :D

I am getting one of those too.

I never had it with the boys but my friend had it for her little girl and says it's brilliant.

I need a new monitor anyway so at least I will have peace of mind with this one.

Did you know that giving your baby a dummy decreases the risk of cot death?

I heard that too. My first had a dummy but my second wouldn't have one.

After hearing that I will deffinatly try to give this baby one.

I only gave my daughter a dummy because I used to suck my thumb and had terrible buck teeth.... I spent years being teased, then I fell over and chipped my front adult tooth and have had nothing but problems with crowns since, then years of painful orthodontic treatment as a teenager, now I've got to go and get it replaced again and its going to cost 500€, and I just didn't want my poor child to go through the same thing...

My mum hates them, thats why I never got one, but now I have another excuse to use them... :cheer:
