Lines negra does it fade?

Title should be linea nigra, but my phone has auto correct issues!

I've had a linea nigra since I was about 10 weeks pregnant, will it fade after birth and my hormones settle down? Even the sonographer commented on it lol she said it was cute, but its actually quite dark its even circled around my belly button piercing hole that now looks like a little shocked face! X

Laughing at the that description of your belly button!! I'm a ftm so no experience but i have had a defined lines nigra since quite early on - I think it will fade after birth as its pigmentation due to hormones rather than a physical scar (like stretch marks).

Lol its quite disgusting hoping it goes back to a normalish looking belly button at some point. It's funny how some people don't get the line. X

Yeah I read that they do fade but some don't go completely... Although most of my friends who have children said theirs went completely xxx

I got one after week 27 but it isn't super dark or thick so I guess I can tolerate it if it doesn't go away but I would expect it to go once the hormones have settled x

I had one with my daughter and it went completely, but not until about 6 months! Funnily enough, this time (pregnant with a boy) I don't have one at all!

Yep had it with my son n it did fade after but caby remember how long it took to go, this tome round its not so bad.

Mine faded with DD1 and hasn't come back yet at nearly 7 weeks. Towards the end of my first pregnancy I also got the pregnancy mask where your face gets brown patches too! That went within a few days but I didn't mind so much as lots of people commented I had a nice tan haha! Xx

I ususlly get a light line very late in pregnancy, so takes 6 mths to fade, ive always presumed because I get it do late - but no sign of any line yet and im 35 weeks tomorow

Maybee yours will start fading imediately as was an early one to arrive x

Mine took a few months to fade completely but they do go away.

I got one with my DS and also got the brown circle round my belly button as well, they both took around a year to go, maybe even 18 months actually, but it did eventually disappear completely. I didn't really like it it freaked me out a bit for some reason so I was glad when it went!

This time round I don't seem to have one at 33 weeks but I know they can appear quire late on so there's time yet xx

I have some pigmentation patches on my face this time, I have freckles and there's 2 patches where the freckles have completely disappeared which is a bit strange! I can only assume pregnancy related as I've never had it before! But it's easily covered with foundation so I'm not bothered xx

Yup it does fade. Both times mine faded quite quickly. I did end up with a weird dirty looking belly button though after my first which has never quite gone back to normal.
