like period pain

iv felt like mild pain like period pain sometimes recently. could it still be "afterpains" nearly 3 months later? i got them for about 3 days after the birth then they stopped. but now theyre back is it normal?

I've had this a couple of times recently, I was wondering if maybe it's a sign that my period is going to start again? I think the afterpains stop once your uterus contracts back down to the normal size, which is within weeks of the birth so I wouldn't have thought it's that.
