Length help?!

Hi ladies, it can't be right surely? My LO was measured by HV at few weeks old at home and he measured 60cm she said ow that's long!! Never thought anything of it but just measured him now at 8 months and he's 72cm! I looked at length of 60cm he just can't have been thar at birth??? Just wondered what u ladies thought and how tall bab is at around 8mths? Everyone keeps saying oh he's so tall for 8 months he's going to be really tall!! Duno where they get these ideas from and me and hubby quite short! Sorry waffling now! Thanks xx

Isla was 49cm at birth and is 70cm now. If he was tall I'd expect him to be longer than 72cm at 8 months. Islas grown 21cm and is on the 50th for height. not sure if this helps! X

I don't know how tall charley is now but he was 54cm's born. I might go measure him now x x

Tegan was 50 cms at birth and is 66 cms now at 9 months! so has grown 16 cm since birth x

This is gonna sound silly, how do you measure them? From head to toe or head to ankle? I'm confussed :/

Thanks all!! I can't see him really have being 60cm at birth?!! And only growing 12cm cos he's loads bigger now! X
Chaz I think HV measured from head to toe when he was tiny! But mow Aiden can stand I measured from head to ankle (stood up) if that makes sense? Not sure which is correct way but that's how we measure how tall we are so I'm going with that xx

When they measured Tegan at hospital the other week they done head to ankle! i doubt he was 60cm at birth they've probably got it wrong! x

Perhaps it was meant to be 50cm at birth?

Drake was never measured when he was born! At 9 months (he's 10 months now) he measured 69.5cm and he's on the 9th centile for height, bless my little short arse

"normal" is 50 ish at birth, 54 is fairly tall, 60 sounds unreal. Noa was 70cm a few weeks back x

Well I tried measuring him earlier even though he wouldn't stand still and it looked about 74cm which seems normal with everyone else's heights x x

Lacey was 56cm, she was a very tall baby but now she's one of the shortist in her class lol

I agree a bit long 60cm really?! I had the tape measure out going "that never fit inside me, not even curled up!!' I wasn't even that big xx

60cm does sound way too long. Lucas got weighed on Wednesday at 8 weeks 2 days and he was 56.5cm. HV did from head to ankle xx
