When i feed LO loads of my milk overflows out of her mouth all down me. I usually have to feed with a towel underneath as everything gets soaked.
I have fed about four times in total in public and it was really hard not to get what i was wearing covered in milk.

I really want to be confident whilst out and about that i can breastfeed when she needs it, but dont really want to be walking round afterward with big wet patches down my clothes.

Does anyone else have/or had the same problem? When does it ease or stop?

I does get much better once your supply settles down around 6-8 weeks.
I would stuff a muslin down the bra of the boob I wasn't using - this really helped. Otherwise, have you tried breast shells? They collect the milk and you can freeze it for a later feed for your daughter.

Hi Valentine
I do hope it does get better, but my problem is that the boob she feeds off is the one i have problems with. She feeds and half of it ends up down me, all down my front and onto my trousers. I know she is latched on ok and getting plenty of milk for herself, but my mum even mentioned to me yesterday that she didnt remember that happening to her when she breastfed.
I am just finding it to be rather messy and quite consious (sp) of doing it in public.

hey hon
i used to have this with connor quite badly - he'd dribble lots when feeding and i'd end up having to change my top several times a day. i'd stuff a burping cloth in my bra where i'd tucked it under my boob for feeding to catch the dribble - not obvious to the naked eye cos i feed him under a large muslin.
its got better though - connor's v greedy and i don't think he likes milk to go to waste

I had this too- it does get better as they get older- I do the muslin tucked in the bra trick too and that helps.

or drape a muslin or thick bib over LO s shoulder closest to you so it fills in the gap and catches the dribble. saves rummaging about with your bra too much when youre out
