I want to have a weekend away now that im on mat leave and we cant go abroad so it will be our last holiday alone, am thinking cornwall so can someone reccomend a good place to stay there where there's a good beach and things to do?? Is there somewhere near 'fifteen' jamie olivers resteraunt?? I know Nicki lives there so you may be able to help?!xx

OMG you just made me shite a brick I just read "last weekend before baby arrives Nickilubs" and thought Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Haha!

Well you could come where we are near Looe I would recommend staying in Looe if your splashing out then theres a couple good hotels on is Barclay House and the other Is Hannafore Point. There are lots of pretty places about here. Your close to Polperro and Fowey that are both gorgeous little places. But it depends what your into where I live is very rural lots of beaches and very small pretty towns Polperro really is like somewhere you will never of seen before It is absolutely gorgeous its soooo cute! And Fowey is like a picture book! Heres a photo I took there.....

Or if you want to be somewhere a bit busier theres Torquay I quite liked it there I went to Newquay but was a real party place and not really my thing I didn't feel safe there for some reason. I think theres a restaurant owned by some famous chef in Padstow that would be fairly close to where I am but I don't know who owns it.

Where abouts is Jamie Olivers one? How long would you be comming for?

Maybe i'll take a leaf out of your book and have a weekend away, is it cheap down there? Don't want to spend too much money...

I've been to Polperro. It's got a big hill  .

Hahaa yeeeh around here is hill land! Everywhere is narrow hills up little lanes haha! Forgot about that! If your round these bits you have to like walking up hills!

We stayed at a caravan park at the top of what I can only describe as a vertical hill. It was even too steep to cycle down it  and it took ages to push the bikes back up it. I actually collapsed within sight of the caravan when we got to the top :rotfl: .

DH and I compare all hills that we go up with the Polperro hill.

But the village at the bottom was lovely. It would have been better if we had used the car instead of the bike that day  .

:D Heheeee yehhh Polperro is really beautiful everything there (other than the hills) is so dinky! There used to be the smallest shop in England there but it was closed when we went there. Did you go to Looe? Thats where I work too its pretty there too.

Is it nice living in a chocolate boxy place or do you know and again yearnnn for a local primark ??
Im half in northampton, town centre yayy, and when im at my OH's parents its more rural so lovelly but after a week or so i sorta crave town, but then again if im there for a little while, when i get back home i miss all the space and field n that !

Then again its not half as pretty or idyllic where he lives as u do i dnt htink !

Its good, I grew up in Somerset and thought I knew rural but now I know I didn't! I think the difference between Somerset and here is that if you want to go somewhere with clothes shops and stuff then as long as you can drive then you can be there in 30mins max and there is actual towns that have practical type shops pretty close. Where as here really is like "whats Primark?!" as it is "whats a supermarket?!" there is nothing like fast food things like mcdonolds or nothing which is a good thing because it means you have to cook your own food unless you can afford to eat in tourist pubs every night or even once a week would just be too expencive. Also people drive like complete loons here! Its quite scary because the roads are so narrow and everyone seems to think its a good idea to drive on the wrong side of the road! But I do really like it.......I also like going and visiting my parents for real shops though every 2-3 months the good thing is you don't spend all your money on clothes around here because theres no real everyday temptation which is quite strange for me because I could quite easily go shopping every day!

I think id relli like to live like that !! Remove all temptations and see how i get on in the country but itd be like going on castaway for something, i bet i just think i dont use barely any conviniences but in reality i bet i just dont notice using them because i do it so often !

Plus OH couldnt even hack camping for more than 3 days !!

Yeh you really dont realize how much you use things like I said with the supermarkets literally there is one Morrisons that is about 20min drive away then theres no others for miles! Heheee also you have to get used to the spiders and little creepy crawlys! I was trying to explain to my OH that finding 2 spiders in a house every day was normal even quite few and we dont have a infestation but he still wont believe me! Also introducing him to such delites as Hornets, Maybugs and slow worms has been quite interesting.

Jamie Olivers restaurant is in water gates bay which isn't too far from Newquay. It really depends what your after to where the best place to stay is, Newquay is very tourist based with the shops and night life and has some lovely beaches but at this time of year tends to be very busy!

I think the famous chef's restaurant in padstow is Gordan Ramsays but could be wrong!

Yay lots of ideas thanks! Sorry didnt mean to scare you though!! We just wanna go for a weekend like friday-sunday, just want somewhere where there's nice walks and scenery (beaches) might look into that famous resteraunt- i thought seeing as we cant go for the nightlife we could splash out on eating somewhere nice at least!! I looked on different sites at where to stay but theres so many little places I didnt have a clue so its good to hear insider knowledge! Ive heard people mention Looe before so will definately look into that, thanks! Gonna make my OH treat me so need t book it asap while he's agreed!xx
