I had a laparoscopy yesterday, i am feeling very soar around the abdominal area as well as feeling bloated. I am trying not to take too many pain killers as i don't like to rely on them, but maybe i should?
I was half way through my cycle, does the procedure mess up your cycle or will i have a period when it's expected?
I was told i mustn't get the wounds wet for at least a week and not bath for 3/4 weeks, that seems like quite a long time?
when can i start having sex again? i've heard you are meant to be quite fertile after this op. Any tips and stories would be appreciated:)

Do you mean a Laparoscopy? Camera via your belly button to check your ovaries etc?

I had on a few years ago, was tender and bloated for a week, don't see any reason to avoid sex unless they did anything to your ovaries/womb.

Good luck hun

awww less u i know how it feels...they fill u with gas so u may have shoulder and tummy pain for a few days..i was dead bruised too !!didnt mess my cycles up and had sex as soon as i felt up to it xx

it didn't mess anything up for me when I had one, I only avoided sex for a few day when it was still uncomfortable and I was worried about the stitches, after that I was fine. I took painkillers for a few days because I found that if I was moving more comfortably it helped shift some of the air out, thus relieving the discomfort if you see what I mean! Ilso I had quite tight stomach muscles at the time so they were sore and again being able to move easily, helped. If you take them regularly for a couple of days, I reckon you'll feel better quicker :) good luck hun xx

Hi I had one a few months back and it didn't mess my cycles up at all. Think I was a bit sore for a week after but it gradually got better each day and I was told I didn't need to wait to have sex but think as I was sore it was probably about a week. When I did get my period a few bits of tissue seemed to come away but think that it very common. I was also told by the nurse to have a bath to ease the pain and I found a heat pack on my shoulder/tummy helped with the pain from the gas
