Hoping for some words of wisdom from you lovely ladies.

I saw the gynae consultant this week as my pelvic ultrasound found a polyp in the womb lining. She was keen to remove it as there is evidence that it could interfere with implantation so it seems the sensible thing to do. I was expecting to be offered a hysteroscopy to remove it but she suggested doing a lap and dye so as well as removing the polyp, she could also have a good look around and flush out my tubes at the same time. Obviously it's a lot more invasive but I think it might be a good option as I believe the fertility clinic (we see them in June) will want my tubes flushed anyway. The lap and dye will also have longer recovery time but I've heard the other procedures can still be quite painful even with a local anaesthetic.

Would be great to hear experiences of any of these procedures.

Hi hun, I've had a laparoscopy hysteroscopy and dye done at the one time. I was in overnight (only because I was done late in the day) then home the next morning. Recovery was just a few days and I found it fine. They fill your tummy with air when they're having a look about and the trapped wind after it was probably the worst (farting helps   ). I wouldn't ever say it wasn't worthwhile or too painful to get. Once they went in they found a few other things we weren't expecting so I was glad to have had it done!

Hope that helps. Happy to answer anything else you can think of xx

Thanks for you reply. It's interesting that when you had yours they found things they weren't expecting as I had that on my list of pros. I think what I've found most difficult is the fact that all the problems that have been discovered so far have either been out of the blue or minimal symptoms. I've lost count how many times I've been asked if I bleed between periods - like I should be!! But I really had no idea until the ultrasound and they did 2 just to be really sure. I keep thinking what next? I think the fact I'm getting offered 'the works' I should take it but I'm the sort who likes to be prepared.
