Took my 2 boys to the drs both for various different reasons.

Callum has a lump on the end of his willy underneath his foreskin, the dr said it is just a fatty deposit and nothing to worry about, has any one heard of this? he's only 5.

And Ethan has been referred to a chiropodist for his feet (obviously), and a child psychologist/pediatrition (sp) we've already got him a referral to another child psychologist due to the same reasons, but it's good to get another one.

It's just nice after 4 years of going through various processe's and with help from his school that we are eventually seem to be getting somewhere and will hopefully get some proper answers over the next 6 months, so just wanted to share :D

can I ask if it's for behaviour reasons? - we've been through this with Paris

Hi Babylicious

Sorry I didn't reply earlier, not been online too much resently.

It's a long story with Ethan really but I'll try to make it short, When he was 4 we had alot of problems with him, he'd throw lots of tantrums, he couldn't talk proberly was very hyperactive, the HV had a few theorys and surgested Parenting classes to help us learn how to help him better (which I was very willing to do) but luckily she also asked a women to come and see him, She runs a place called Acorns, which is a pre-school for various disabilties and disorders, inc downsyndrome and Autism.

She agreed that she thought Ethan had some sort of learning disorder and that Acorns would take him on, we found out from there that he has a Lauguage disorder which means he's understanding was alot lower then his expressive lauguage, which is why he had so many tantrums because he didn't understand.

He's now 7 and goes to a school with a speech and lauguage unit, which is great as he goes to normall classes for half a day and then goes in the speech and language unit for the other half.

Thing have inproved quite alot but we still have problems, he has virtually no attention span really, give barely any eye contact and can be quite hypo, but we are eventually getting their, we are currently having his investigated to see if he's on the Austisic spectrum, which for the last 2-3 years we and his school have thought he has had, but has been hard to evaluate due to his language disorder, his understanding at the moment has been evaluated at the age level for a 5 year old.

Sorry for the long post, beleave me it is shortened
What sort of difficulties have you had? or is their anyone else here with simular troubles?

 Paris's speech was delayed and she can speak much better now although still struggles with certain letters (she's 7 too) - she can differentiate v from t etc.

Problems with her have been lack of attention span, frustration which she would frequently hit out, she doesn't make friends easily and is very obsessive (she likes to collect rubbish from the floor and hides it) - she is still putting things in her mouth etc. She must have a routine or she becomes very withdrawn.

She goes to maintstream school but will have a key worker hopefully when she goes back in september.

She had a full assessment done back in may and thats when we found the problems - now we understand her she's coming on leaps and bounds :D

My sister had the same when she was at junior school, she went to a school with a speech unit, she had a short attention span and got very frustrated and easily confused with spoken language wouldn't even entertain the written word.
She couldn't tell the difference between who and how for example amongst other things, so would guess the answer (who are you....fine thank you, that sort of thing). She improved enough to go to a mainstream secondary school.
I hope you get the right help & answers now Suz
