Hello all,

My name is Anna and I have joined to help and hopefully be helped on a project I'm pioneering in the Kingston upon Thames and surrounding areas.

I'm a dog rescuer and trainer and became alarmed at the amount of women who were having to give up a family pet simply because they were expecting and were either worried about their dogs behaviour, or worried they wouldn't be able to cope with both pup and new arrival.

So I have created the 'dog doula' project. Combining my own experience with a 'deal with it before it becomes an issue!' outlook I'm here to hopefully make the transition easier for the whole family.

I'm currently looking for at least one lady in my area who could benefit from this service to assist me in training a second 'dog doula', she would get the entire service completely free and hopefully some piece of mind into the bargain!

Nice to meet you all and please feel free to browse my website (which I hope is on my signature? eep!)

Very best wishes with it Anna, it sounds like a lovely project, it's sad to think owners feel like that when pregnant, I know our dog is very much part of our family and having a home birth I know his presence will only make the experience even more relaxed and I can't imagine our son not having a dog with him as he grows up.

Very best wishes

Thanks. :D

Most dogs I know would be unlikely to make a home birth more relaxing! But then again I work with the stressed ones most of the time.

I hope it goes very well and I'm glad to hear you consider your dog an immoveable part of your family. So many see them as transient sadly.

Anna
