My baby has never liked having covers over her - she always kicks them off not long after she is put to bed. Now she is getting bigger it is like wrestling an octopus trying to get her tucked in, and I know the blankets won't be there for long. We've tried to put her in a grobag, but she gets hysterical, screaming and thrashing about, so I have taken her out quite quickly again on the occasions we've tried. Last night OH said, tough - she can just get used to it. Which means I am worn out today after trying to keep her calm enough to go to sleep in it until I took her out of it at 2am, after 7 hours of her waking in a panic every half hour. She would sleep and then as soon as she woke she would scream at it and wriggle around trying to get out of it.

We are not at all convinced she is warm enough at night - she sleeps wearing a vest and babygrow, and the most we can get over her is a sheet and fleece and this ends up round her feet after about an hour or so. The room is about 18-19 degrees on a night. We've done the best we can to keep the room temperature a bit higher than usual.

Any other suggestions? Or should I let her sleep without a blanket since she seems to prefer it?

the only thing i can suggest if she doesent like being covered is getting her a fleece sleepsuit willow has one although she doesent wear it for bed you can get them in primark for less then a fiver.

Isaac doesn't do blankets either and isn't over keen on grobags but we still put him in one as we feel he's just too cold without. I've found putting him on his side in the cot helps, do you place her on her back? Some LO's find moving in grobags difficult, think that's why they don't like them hehe I do know merino wool is like a miracle natural fabric that keeps LO at a perfect temp, winter or summer, so bedtime clothes made from this is a good option, but its very expensive :? I think so anyways. Very best wishes, I don't know what to suggest except keep trying with the grobags? There are all different types, try one opposite to the one you have been trying, ie if its a polyester type, try a soft cotton type? Very best wishes, if she was too cold she wouldn't be happy, and wouldn't settle so I don't think you should worry too much, easier said than done sometimes I know :hug:

Here's one link, but there's lots about if you search, though mainly out the UK;

Ryan was the same, we struggled with him being swaddled sometimes cos he got annoyed at being too warm... He sleeps at the moment with a vest and babygro on, and his room is somewhere between 18 and 21 (my room thermometer only goes up in 3's) and he's fine in that. Wait until she sleeps and then cover her over with the blanket? Ryan sleeps as above, and with a moses basket sheet loosely over the top of him. It tends to stay on if we cover him when he's actually fully asleep.

I'm sure she would tell you if she was uncomfortable but I know it can be tough :hug: x

Try putting a little cardi over the sleepsuit. I use all the "nanny knits" I was given and it keeps Ruby really snuggy. She sleeps longer when she's snuggy and warm :wink:

amber doesnt like grobags so we got a fleecy sleepsuit to go over to sleepsuit and when she is asleep we put the sheets over her and i dont hear from her from 7.30 - about 6.

oran sleeps in his grow bag but ive wached him try to roll over sometimes in it and he cant so he wakes up, sits up, turns round,then lays back down bless him. So last night we stole my mums new fleecesuit she had bought him and put him in it over his PJ's & vest and he didnt cry getting in it and also he seemed to have a better nights sleep!(at last)
