keep getting horrible thoughts

As most of you know went for a scan last friday and there was a bubs there in the right place and lil heart beating nicely however i can help but think something is gonna happen is it common to get thoughts like this ???
I was never like this with my son who's now 5.
Also when i have my 1st midwife appointment will i get to hear my babys heartbeat?

It is normal, I think being on a forum as this, it opens your eyes up to what can happen and therefore puts the worry in your head.

Try not to worry hun, I had my first MW appointment at 16 weeks and I got to listen to the heartbeat. Everything will be fine!

I am on a constant rollercoaster of emotions, back and forth from excited and happy to a worrying wreck. A quick read of the positive post always helps!

Its very common. I'm on a rollercoaster of emotions all the time. I think its because you are always being tested and checked that it makes you anxious that something could be wrong. It wears off a little but you will still get some moments (my recent one last night!).

Re midwife appt it depends. My first one was her asking loads of questions and filling in paperwork. My 2nd appt was taking all the blood tests and I never got to hear the heartbeat until the 3rd appt but I'm sure if you ask she will do it for you.

both me and husband have been worrying about our pregnancy and its very common to do so. Just wanted to say im here if you ever need to talk. I know the harder you try not to worry the more you worry, but its completly normal.
