Does this happen to anyone else? Seems to be whenever I attend antenatal clinic someone is there with a toddler who's behaviour needs some supervision. Actually it's normally the parents fault because they let the toddler do whatever instead of stepping in at the appropriate time. AND THEN comes the scolding normally using the a name on my short list. I sound like a right fuddy duddy but most of the kids are ok it's just the odd few. Anyway the names currently off the list are:

Ethan
Eli
Riley
Ryan
Kelsey

Getting cheesed off now because there are so few names we remotely like.

Eli is the name we have chosen for Pip :D

Ryan is also on my shortlist but DH doesn't like it. Love Riley but again DH doesn't like it.

Not keen on the other 2 personally but they r nice names xx

We are having Riley if bubs is a boy, if not its going to be sophia. Know what you mean though. xx

i like Eli and Kelsey, as i know way to many of the others!

It's irritating isn't it!

I went off the girls name Ive had picked for years cos about 4 people on here were having it! Lol!

Eli is currently the only name we agree on - but I have a feeling DH is going off it. Pip is just gonna be Pip I think! Lol!

I like Ryan best from your list. OH doesn't like it though, boo!

I find it very hard to pick names becuase i've been in childcare for 11 years and have probably looked after close to 1,000 children! Never met a Jack though :) x

Can't have Darius because my cousin is called that. Same for Alexander. Me and DH actually didn't mind David but thats DH's Uncles name and DH's dad hasn't spoken to him for 20 years

We're not naming LO after DH's dad coz he's called Jeffery!

I have been set on Cameron for a boy my whole pregnancy. Bloody MIL says 2 days ago: "you know all anyone is going to think of is the prime minister" and screwed up her face. It's totally put o/h off it now and I really could have slapped her I'm so cross :( o/h now wants Ethan instead and I do like it but there are loads of Ethan's now :wall:

My sons are Ryan & Liam and hoping to have another.

We have a girls name picked - Niamh- but cant think of a name if we have a boy.
Would like a name as short as our other two but we cant agree.

Any suggestions?

Cameron was my fave name for a long time. I love it. I told my SIL last year when we were discussing our fave names. She is due in April and said that they had picked 2 names for a boy and 2 for a girl. I said she could tell me and you can guess what one of the names was :wall2: Never discussing names with family again! Lol.

xx

I love Cameron but I already have a nephew called Cameron :wall:

I'd stick to your guns if you really like it. I'm just not discussing names with anyone apart from DH for the exact same reason. People just cheese me off when they offer there opinion when its not wanted.

Mum keeps firing names at me and she's got some pretty funny ideas. Unfortunately she sometimes hits a name on our shortlist which annoys me because she'll claim she came up with the name if we went for it.

Also FYI Jeffery is the name of my brothers cat so another nail in the coffin for that one :D

I've got cats called Brandon and Sheldon. Future cats may well get called Wesley or Eugene. But don't let that put anyone off using these names too :D

I'd gone off it a wee bit by the time she told me so I let it go. It's slightly annoying though, but I suppose she doesn't remember the conversation. I was ttc at the time I told her, that's why I do

I just don't want her telling me anymore names for that reason. I don't think she will though. If she goes to I'm going to say in the nicest way possible, not to tell me.

I don't like the way friends, who aren't even ttc yet, tell you their fave names so they're off limits.

I never thought I'd be someone to keep names to myself but we're going to now.

I like Callum a lot. I think OH will want his Dad's name as the middle name (Hugh - not my cuppa, but I understand why). I'm waiting on SIL saying the same thing  lol but will just say to her if she does. She's about 14 weeks so not due for a while yet.

My Mum does the same. She's obsessed with Finlay lol. I like the name but OH doesn't. But because she keeps going on about it, I automatically think no. Lol.
xx

I didn't realise the pitfalls of discussing names you like, but am learning fast. My SIL and OH cousin is also pregnant and the cousin has already started fishing for name ideas. She doesn't know I'm pregnant but knew we were ttc. I'm very cagey because she is due first, it's bad but just in case. If she picks a name we like that's tough but if I told her a name I liked and she picked it I'd be a bit miffed. With my SIL I'm lucky as she's chosen quite traditional Welsh names xx

I honestly think the best thing is to agree not to discuss it. Then if she does pick your name, you know she didn't know and didn't steal it. It's hard isn't it?xx

Love your names , all kids are naughty tho, don't let it put you off a name.

Taffy rose, def don't mention any really top fave names with anyone, keep it to yourself , make sure OH knows and understands too!
