Just out of interest, what would you have done?

I purchased a kick and play vibrating chair from ebay that was described "as new".
When i recieved it it stunk of smoke, the bars needed a good wash down with anti bac spray and there was some staining to the seat cover. Now to me that was not "as new" so i left neuteral feedback to say this. I admit i didnt contact the seller before hand because to be honest there was nothing she could do to change things, the item was here and just needed a good wash and clean up.
She has now emailed me saying how unfair i have been considering she went to extra expense for postage but surley as new should be as if you just unpacked it out of the box from the shop??

stick by your guns, tell her it was not as new and you feel cheated.

Personally I would have contacted her and requested my money back. Im a non smoker so to receive something that was smelling of smoke would not have went down well especially as its for a baby and was described as new.

Im very precious about my feedback and would carefully list something.

I dont think you done anything wrong.

hey whats with the negative feedback i gave you the tracking ref and refunded when i got back what more can i do if an item is lost in the post i cant

we have worked hard for to get our feedback i dont mess people about or would i rip someone one off

i am asking you nicely to be fair and remove this feedback

i hope to hear from you soon

I got this the last time I left negative feedback about some jeans that didn't arrive. He failed to mention in his email that he didn't post it for 11 days, ignored my emails and then it "got lost" in the post :fib: . He had 96% feedback for things getting lost so tough :shakehead: .

Ignore her. I think hard before I leave negative feedback and if you thought she deserved it then you should leave it.

hazel - do you know you can comment on feedback left for you. Tell him he is talking sh**e.

i would of tried for a refund then if nothing, done exactly what you did. stick to your guns hun :D

I would have asked for a refund too and sent it back.

I wouldn't want anything stinking of smoke near my baby, we're a non smoking family.

Cheeky blighters aren't they, complaining about the truth!

prob because sellers cant leave negative or neutral feedback for buyers nowadays so she cant retaliate :)
i dont think neutral feedback goes against her though, its not like it was negative... i presonally would have contacted her first though to see what she had to say. you would have thought she would have washed it first anyway...i think i would have done the same, but would have contacted seller to let her know. x

Thanks for your thoughts. The smoke smell will wash out and it will clean up so its not all doom and gloom, i just wish people would be honest!

i think you are absolutely right. If something is described as new, then it should come in an as new condition. At the very least it could have been washed and cleaned to make it as new. Neutral feedback was nice all things considered.

Anything smokey described as new in my mind is a big no no, specially if its something for baby cus m eans they wud have had to b smoking round them so not exactly expected is it !!

I probs would have asked for refund first, but theres nothing wrong with your way at all !!
