Hypnobirthing: The Mongan Method: A Natural Approach to a Safe, Easier, More Comfortable Birthing with CD

I'm going to do the course too! Determined to enjoy this labour (as it will be my last) and I'm going to put my body to the test and see what it can really do!
Can't wait to get studying lol

Anyone else hypnobirthing?? xx

I am going to look into hypnobirthing.

If all is OK I want to go to the Birthing centre as opposed to labour ward and do as much as I can with as little pain relief as possible.

However my recent toothache has made me rethink a little as I was a complete wuss with the pain (I cried - a lot - it was so bad!)

I still def want to look into hynobirthing though

I would love to have a hypnobirth but don't know where to start!

Are there places that offer courses? X

I googled it and Liverpool women's hospital (where I'm booked) run a course. It's pricey (£250) but I think worth every penny.
I'm sure there will be courses local to everyone.
There are also online courses and lots of CDs and books on amazon if the course is too pricey x

I was thinking of looking into this. I might buy a book :) I've read some fab reviews on it x

There are some great book and cd packages on amazon, have a peep x

I start my course tomorrow my hypno teacher is amasing, she has done so much to try and help me do so much already (i have a few complications) and i've started to listen to the first cd, im doing the course on my own instead of a group and cant wait to start tomorrow xx

That's sounds great, I'm taking my sister as my partner (because I don't think my oh will be able to keep me in the zone, he thinks it all rubbish) x

I won't even bother explaining to my OH what Hypnobirthing is.

If I do attend a course I'll go alone or take my sister.

Not sure I'll take a course BUT once I get into Tri 2 I def want to seriously look into this and decide from there.

Elisesmum, how much are you paying for private courses?

If and when i fall pregnant again i will be doing this course and DH will come too.... Due to the blood disorder I have I can't have pain relief and if i need a c-section it would have to be an emergency under general.... SO... all i can have is gas and air so hypobirthing is ideal for me....

I've got the CD and the two times I have listened I have fallen asleep within 5 minutes....think I'm doing it wrong lol. OH SIL done it (she loaned me her CD) and said it was amazing. Laboured in 4 hours, took 2 to fully dilated and had 3 pushes in the pool and baby was out. I'm sold BUT will ask for drugs if I'm not coping. Xx

Oh deffo, if I need the drugs then I'll ask. I enjoy meditation so I'm hoping this will be similar. Even if all it does is remove some of the panic and anxiety I feel during labour then I'm happy x

This what I'm hoping it will do - calm my nerves because I often panic and dislike hospitals. Really hoping I can stay in the birthing centre xx

It's worth a try isn't it and I've heard such great reviews of it xx

I am going to give it a go too. If it dont work it dont work, already have an epidural in the birthing plan on my notes as a back up! haha

thanks for the info! there must be places in London do this... (altho OH deffo doesn't like idea of spending money on it!!) I get to meet my midwife next week will ask her about it :)

There's something similar and cheaper called the Daisey birth plan - I think it's called that. I found a course for £70 and they're in London. Will try an fnd the proper name x
