just found out i have a HPV nfection

hi everyone.

I'm looking for advice, if anyone has had the same experience as me.
ive recently had a smear test and just received a letter today informing me I have a HPV infection (Human Papillomavirus). ive to go for a colposcopy on 20th decemeber to check my abnormal cells.
has anyone had any experience with this? I'm extremely worried. I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant and ill be 10 weeks when I have this check.
I'm worried about the treatment I may need and whether itll be cancerous. I don't want to terminate my pregnancy.

I'm writing in this group in case any of you ladies have had the same experience and can offer me advice. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry flowerbomb I don’t have any experience with this but didn’t want to read and run. Hope someone else can answer for you. Maybe try and see your gp to discuss?

I had exactly the same experience in April! I had a letter waiting for me when i returned from holiday following a my smear, we decided we would give TTC a rest in a sense of OPK etc activley monitoring (would you believe the month we copped out! typical). I was advised i had Abnormal Cells and HPV. I was booked for a colposcopy. In that meantime i found out i was expecting after 6 month TTC! I still went for my appointmen, think i was about 8 weeks pregnant at the time. They basically had a look at my cervix and used dye/ iodine on the abnormal areas. I dont know exactly what she did in there, but whatever they tested they were happy that it could wait until after the baby is born. I am booked in for another appointment in May 2018, baby will be 3 months old x
