i thought i would post this as every one ive read even for subsequent pregnancies ppl are saying theyve not seen or spoke to a midwife and doctors not calling back etc etc and some of you poor ladies are past 12 weeks.

right here goes - obviously i know things can work slightly different in different areas but with all of my prenancies - and this is my fourth ive had different doctors and ive dont the same thing all the time and never been told not too or anything.

when ive found out i was pregnant ive called my local surgery up and never requested a doctor as he wont be dealing with you at all in your pregnancy but straight away said can i book my first midwife appointment please - they usually then book you in for at 7wks gestation where you will have your notes given to you and the midwife will give you her number incase you have any worrieds or problems and from them on she will make all the appointments for you including your scans.

thanks roxane, unfortunately in Cardiff they have just changed the system. You no longer are allowed a booking appointment (which used to be your midwife at your home) you ONLY see A midwife (and i'm not going to see my midwife cos she's on leave) when you go for your 12 week scan at the hospital. Luckily she phoned me which was sweet after I made the scan appointment (although I was just about to get on a plane to malaysia, literally!). It would have been so nice to have an appt before coming out here. Even if I was at home I wouldn't have got one any earlier!
