Oh yeah, lots of opinions flying about!

I don't really have an opinion on it to be honest... I think that every woman is entitled to make her own decisions in life without others judging them.

What do you think?

I agree with u. Each woman knows what they are capable off and if they know what the risks are then yeh why not :) A child should be a mirical available for every woman who wants one :) younge, middle aged or old.

Im watching too! I think once u get to a certain age fertility treatment shouldnt be allowed, because of risks to the baby. there are plenty of children out there in need of a loving home and parents so i think older ladies should consider adoption instead. Just my view!

Hana u missed the debate about older woman having fertility treatment to have a baby, but i think that is it :)

Helen that was funny when he did that, i am goin to get my OH not to ware pants hehe

I think that people should adopt themselves before trying to lay the responsibility to adopt at someone else's feet due to health or age issues.

Everyone can become "infertile" by sticking a condom on if they need a reason to go and give a home and parents to a needy child instead of bringing their own into the world.

Yeah? At what age do you suggest the cut off point is?

Mmmm....as long as the mother is healthy & can provide for their child whilst pregnant & once born then I don't see what the problem is tbh

Exactly keeza i agree!

To be honest I don't think age should be a problem. If the sole reason is health and whether the parents would be around for the child growing up. My mum passed away at 36yrs old from SADS, no reason, no cause she just isn't here no more. So regardless of age of ur parents they could be suddenly gone, as long as mother and baby aren't at risk then I think they should be allowed help to conceive. Xx

Well said Kanga & I'm so so sorry about your mum :hugs: :hugs:

Bianca......

I'd like to know what is being classed as an older lady though??

I, by choice, will not be having children now until mid to late 30's, possibly later if I am able to because I am making sure I've done everything I want to, my debts are completely clear, we have a house & are renting the flat out & we have some savings

So because I'm choosing to make my life better for a child & will take a few years, your saying I shouldn't be given the chance???

Every woman should be given a chance like i said in my third post :) Whether through choice or not it is a womans desicion and i dont see a prob :)
Tbh i dont think 30's even late 30's should be classed as an older woman, My mum had her first (me) at 20 but had her last at 34. My antie had her last at 42 and my OH mum had him at 40 and his sister at 42. I have had my little girl young and we are all perfectly healthy.

Think I should have been a bit clearer! When I said older ladies I was talking about those in their 50's and 60's who have treatment cos they cant concieve naturally, not women in their 30's and 40's! Im 30 myself in 4 years so I definitely dont see your thirties as old anymore lol. I wouldnt like to say when the cut off should be - im tempted to say after your menopause but some women go through it early and I think they should be helped still. I'm inclined to say if your over 50 and have been through menopause you shouldnt get treatment, but its a tough call to make

Ah that's ok then lol as most of the girls know I'm 42 shock!!! X

Haha no 42 is fine in my book! My aunty was pregnant at the same time as me at the age of 45 (surprise baby, her youngest was 17 at the time!). Do u have any kids already or will this be your first?
