Just wondering if anyones given birth here? I am just interested in case I have to transfer to hospital-it would be this one. I've not done the tour (should of done really) so I'm really interested in personal experiences! I know it's supposed to be an excellent hospital in general but just wondering what the maternity bits like. x

ME!!!
I've had both of mine here and will have this baby too.
I must say that every mw I have had has been really nice with monty my first I stayed it 2 days and went to the ward what I found ok but o/h was sent home at 4am and I was left to it on my own not being able to walk coz I had an epidrul and i couldnt get to him when he cryed that was terrible they then came put him in my bed then turned my light off I was so scared he might fall i had to stay awake.
2nd time with dolly i had her a 10pm so had to stay in over night as the 6 hours you have to wait would of took me into the early hours so I had to stay till the morning what was better as I had my own room and my o/h could stay with me but I had a really bad bleed and there was blood everywhere floors bathroom, bath, toilet, bed and the next morning no doctors were about to let me go home so mw said ppl could come visit my mum etc but they had to walk into that room it looked like a blood bath not one thing had been cleaned from 10pm the night before and it was now about 11am.
Oh and the whole time I was there we didnt get offered any food I was the only person on the ward and nobody had let the food ppl know.

I was hoping you'd see this thread as you're the one I know lives up here! Lol! That sounds not so good honey! Do they have any birthing pools there? Really praying I don't have to go in now! x

Yea they have a birthing pool but just the one I think so if somebody else is using it then your out of luck I was told when I asked about it.
I was in high dep with monty as low was full lol and you have to share a bathroom with next door what isnt good.
But when I was in low dep with dolly my room was really nice but as I say I was they only personthere must of been a quite day on the labour ward haha.
They have never been in any rush to let me home you always waiting about for doctors etc like I said I'd been told 6 hours and was still there at dinner time the next day.
with monty they where just about to let me go I had coat on the lot and one m/w seen in my file I needed rubella jab so it took them 3 hour to give me it, doc to see me and had to make me wait to see if I had any side affects to it then they let me go home.

Thanks for the insight! I feel a bit more prepared now! All the mw's seem lovely that I've met so that's a plus! Still praying I don't need to go in but it's really great to hear someone's experiences! Thank you! x
