IVF Quetsions

Good morning all.

I have a few questions about what to expect at the doctors on Thursday.

over the past 18 months I have had all the tests, ovulation, fallopian tube etc etc. OH has had sperm tested. Enough but not great swimmers.
But after 2 years still nothing.

So after long last I have my first apointment to discuss IVF on Thursday.
Does anyone know what will happen. Will he put me straight into IVF program or will I have to wait even longer. What will the first stage involve.

I am so nervous and if I am honest a little scared so Can anyone give me any advise.

I'm not sure hun but I didnt want to read and run. I would imagine they will want to go back over your history. They might look at IUI before IVF too.

Im not sure hun, its been over 6 years since I was there. They will most likey as all ready said, go over your history and paperwork. There are legalitlies with regards to the freezing of the embryos not use so you will get paperwork and forms to sign about that.

Its very exciting getting on the first rung of the ladder.

What is IUI?

IUI, or intrauterine insemination, is a relatively simple infertility treatment, where a small tube is used to place specially washed sperm directly into the uterus. You may know of IUI by the more commonly used term artificial insemination (AI). IUI and AI are one and the same fertility treatment.

When considering fertility treatments above and beyond fertility drug use, IUI may be the first tried. It’s easier to do than assisted reproductive technologies, like IVF, and costs much less.
