And went and done my shopping toay and DIDNT buy my usual jarred foods for imogen.

I bought fresh sweet potatoe, parsnips, swede, butternut squash, carrots and broccli to whip up some home made food for her. Shes just not putting weight on fast enough for my liking so Im figuring some homemade food from mummy may help and taste so much better.

Im going to steam a load of it after we have had our tea and make batches up and see how she gets on, praying she likes it instead of the mush she normally eats.

I cant use the excuse i dont have time anymore cos I seem to have oddles of time in the evening sitting on here  so wish me luck!!!

Aw well done for taking the plunge :D

Maddison doesnt seem too keen on my homemade stuff :?

Good luck! I'm a big fan of the Annabel Karmel books, she's got some great recipes if you get stuck :)

Well done-& good luck! You should get those little freezy things for baby puree- i think they are so cute for some reason..

Ive got sandwich bags as I didnt think of anything to freeze in but im sure a ball of it in a bag will be fine.

wow well done you, i havent even thought about doing my own stuff for ryan, is it just a case of cooking and mashing? or do you add other things to make it more sloppy?

Well I guess I cheated abit and bought the root veg all ready prepared cut and peeled  but its still fresh and ive cooed it and its very orange and tastes YUMMY!!! Its very sweet so im sure she will enjoy it.

Where can i get them from??

well done Mrs T, I'm sure Imogen will love it x

I always use freezer bags.

I have to admit Sam much prefers my food to jars. The jars just don't seem to fill him up as much.

Good on you Mrs T, you'll save money too

hope LO likes them...I add diary lee sometimes when he was younger added extra water.D prefered jar food for a long time

Ive just worked it out on what Im saving per month on baby food,

£24!!! omfg!

I will still be buying though the desserts til i get my head around how to make them cos she loves them!

For dessert DS normally has something like homemade rice pudding (so easy!), fromage frais, custard with fruit (you could try mashed banana) or semolina with pear etc.

Jars are hideously expensive if you're using them every day, think what you could put that money towards, that's £288 a year towards Xmas :D

I once ate a jar of baby chocolate pudding dessert fro a dare and it was suprisingly nice

She did ok but im going to water it down a bit as she truggled with the thickness of it. But overall did quite well.
