OMG is she fussy!!!!! It's getting me down now, she'll only eat rusks, apple and apricot cereal, yoghurt, or fruit, oh and anything naughty like chocolate, which she doesn't get.

I know it can take a while for them to take new foods but it's like she'll take any of these first time, we gave her avacado and banana sunday and she emptied her bowl.

I've tried making food, offered her carrots, squash, parsnip, potato and everything she rejects, i even caved and let Dave buy some jars and she gaggs on it all. I've offered it totally purayed, slightly textured, with mummy milk and without, offered potato with gravy and with tomato's in and everything is either gagged on or totally rejected.

I keep offereing it all to her at each meal , i gave her cereal for breakfast as it's appropriate then, and offered the plain mash, tomato mash and then a jar at lunch, after some moaning i caved and gave her a fruit pot instead.

I dot really know what to offer her, i really thought that a proper meal with meat etc like the pots would be ok. it's not like she doesnt like flavour cos she eats fruit and loves it.

Oh and she gaggs on baby rice too, she wouldn't even eat it with fruit in, i will be trying that one again for tea though

She's not fussy hon, she's TINY!!!! She's used to the simple, bland taste of milk. It'd be pretty unusual for a 5 month old to be wolfing down roast dinners

It will take time, there's no rush. Just be glad you have some surefire winners (avocado, banana, etc) When she's old enough for finger foods I betcha she'll be tucking in :)

Ditto the others. She sounds like she isn't really ready yet so why not wait a while and try again in a month. I've found BLW to be really relaxed and our mealtimes are lovely. Galen has his selection and helps himself.

It's important to remember they don't actually need food yet and they get more goodness and calories etc in breastmilk. It's like this for a fair while so don't stress yourself out trying to get her to eat food. Only makes for mealtime woe for you both.

I don't fret if Galen eats one meal and the next just plays with it or doesn't even try something. It's trial and error and I'm letting him set his own pace and not trying to control how much he eats or what he chooses. Having weaned other peoples babies on purees and now doing BLW I can honestly say I am a BLW convert and we are all enjoying the weaning experience in our family.

I'm really lucky there have only been a few meals lil miss would take... leek and parsnip. I try a total of 8 times before I resign myself to the fact she doesn't like it...

But in general... I make a meal, I put it on her plate... and if she doesn't eat it... she doesn't get anything else. I know she will make up for what she misses either through boobie juice or at her next meal. Babies can't intentionally starve themselves at this age unless they have a severe problem, which your LO doesn't have because she will eat.. only the food that she likes though

You can try mixing the savoury foods with the fruit and gradually reduce the fruit... start off with mostly fruit and add more and more savoury.. :)

Also don't try to add too many flavours at once. It bombards a LO's senses and they might freak out at that.   And perseverance. Anything concerning food and babies is perseverance.
