I'VE GOT GROUP B STREP

I got my results today and they're POSITIVE.
Does anyone know if they still need to treat you if you're having a section or is it only a worry if you're having a vaginal delivery?

Oops - just found this for anyone else who's interested...

GBS-colonized women who have a planned cesarean performed before rupture of membranes and onset of labor are at low risk for having an infant with early-onset Group B Strep disease. These women should not routinely receive antibiotics for Group B Strep disease prevention.

my midwife said that u do not have to take antibiotics in case of c section. but i will mention it to yours so that she canput it on your notes

Yes, I will do. Thanks Roxanne.

If you think your waters have broken and you are positive for this then you should go to the hospital asap and get things checked out because this is one of the clinical indications for an induction if you are not having regalar contractions.
