group strep b

got swab results back and have got group strep b so have been advised by midwife that i willneed iv antibiotics in labour. at least i no now!! and i also have thrush!!!but least its all being treated xx

I've not had a swab for group B strep - is it not done routinely?

- is it not done routinely no, i only found out in labour with my 1st baby that i had it, i didn't get chance to get my atb cos i was only in hospital 45 mins befor i had 4th baby an she is fine. Ther are alot of things that can happen but dont worry to much all should be fine 4 times over for me!!! x

Did u have symptoms rainbow dancer? Just wondering why you got swabbed... I've heard it can be really dangerous if no antibiotics are given so good that you know and can get it sorted!
