Sorry no personal experience as I came of the pill a LONG time before Hubby decided we could try for our first... but from what I understand they recommend you wait for your first period before trying so that it is easier to date the pregnancy. However this is the only reason so you can just go for it if you wish. I believe there are several people who managed to catch without ever having a period after coming of the pill. However it can take a long time (up to a year I believe) for the pill to get completely out of your system so it could take a while. Good luck!!!!

They recommend you have at least one proper period before you start trying, to get rid of that egg that's been hanging around in there. I started trying 6 weeks after I came off it.

They definitely recommend you have one period first, but thats only so its easier to work out dates etc if you fall pregnant quickly.

I got trying straight away, had my period as normal first month and fell pregnant the following month.

Good luck TTC

The others have really said what I would of said so just thought that I would say Hi and welcome

Good Luck TTC

Hi Rachel,

Definately get baby dancing straight away...I fell pregnant the month I came off the pill, before I had even had a period, there is no harm if you do fall straight away at all, its just harder to date thats all.

They say that you are super fertile after you stop the pill, this was certainly true for me.

Good luck!! :D

Welcome! I came off the pill in January '07 (for medical reasons not TTC) and have only had normal periods for the last 4 months! Having said that I think a lot of people have much better luck than I did and I was under a LOT of stress which might not have helped!

Wishing you lots of luck!
