Having my IUD put in tomorrow.

Very very scared :(

Any tips to make it not hurt.

I am a big woss. :D

Hope it goes OK hun. I'm going for mine in a couple of weeks.......

It can't be worse than childbirth!

I had a C section. :(

Had a IUD put in years ago but i cannot remember what happens.

Big baby :D

well, a pal of mine had one put in a couple of months ago. She was DREADING it, but she said it was actually OK. A bit uncomfy like a smear test, but no real pain........

good luck anyway hun, just try to relax.........

If you've not had it in yet.. take a load of paracetamol before you go... It's really really uncomfortable..

But it's NO WAY near as painful as giving birth..

I've had an IUD and an IUS fitted (not together!) and was dreading it too but hardly felt a thing! Don't worry it's very small. Afterwards I got a bit of period type pain so take some para or ibu for that but it honestly isn't as bad as what you imagine, as someone else said, is like a smear test

i had one fitted last year. was told that as i had sections and no natural births it would be as painful as hell. was dreading it. took two paracetamols before i went, and it was fine. no problems, didnt hurt, cant remember it being uncomfortable.

i think it must depend on the person doing it. i have the marina coil and i am in the minority where i still get a period, not fair.

I'm planning on having one and dreading it... :?

honestly, nothing to worry about, you will be fine. Just make sure you take a couple of paracetamols about 30 mins before your appointment.

I went this morning and was still dreading it.. :)

It didn't really hurt. Iwas very surprised. The measure thing was uncomfortable and i did'nt feel the coil going in :D
Had period pains all day and some light bleeding :D

Thamks for all your posts. Would recomend a coil to anyone now :D

I have been told that one of the easiest options for me is to have a coil, I've never liked the idea but now i might have no choice :(

It hurt when i had my smear last week to i dread to think how having a coil fitted is going to feel.
