I got the highest peak on the CBFM this morning. It was low yesterday so it seems i missed the high out this month and went straight to peak. We BD'ed this morning and i suppose i will ovulate within the next 24-36 hours. When would you suggest to BD again? OH has low sperm count so i don't know whether BD'ing again today would be a good idea? Would it be better to store it up a little so theres more spermies and they are stronger as he doesn't seem to produce much anyway?
We normally BD every other day when OVin sometimes we have BD every day over my OV time!!! im not sure if he has a low sperm count thou, dont know if it would make that much difference? sorry I cant be more help!!! Good luck catching that egg hun xx
Thanks girls. I dont know what to do! Normally we BD all the time over OV but that hasnt worked either! Last month OH was away abroad and I dont even know whether we caught OV. No point worrying about that now as we definately didnt catch the egg! I dont want to miss the egg, although i can feel myself ovulating so im pretty lucky there... help!!!!
its really hard to know what to do but if you have tried bding everyday around OV before and it hasn't worked then try leaving a day in between and then having a go. especially if you don't think you are going to ovulate til tomorrow, take advantage of your randy OH in the morning what is it with men and mornings!! remember also spermies can live quite a while in a good environment. so the BD you had today may have been enough!!
Hi, Well we BD this morning and i only got the peak this morning so if i OV 12-36 hours and leave it until tomorrow morning we should catch OV at the right time... whether we catch the right egg is another matter!!
Hi Skairdy, hmmmm.... i didnt know that i would get a high today as we BD before i tested for OV. I should really have BD yesterday and tomorrow (every other day) but since i will ovulate tomorrow I guess I will have to BD tomorrow morning now. We will BD tomorrow and then see what happens with OV as to when we next BD. I will try to wait until i feel the egg releasing and nip up to bed then if OH is home.
You only have two peak days and my doc said BD both days! So low sperm count or not...get bding! It is still more sperm than not doing it and you are not saving up if you already bd'ed for this first peak day!
Hi, thanks to everyone for their advice and good wishes!!! Well I was awake until 3am (cant sleep just lately) and OH went to bed about 12.30. Welllll..... at about 3am I started to get ovulation pains in my left side as usual and thought DOH! Should i wake OH up and BD now or not? I dont know whether the pains/aches indicate the ovary filling up with fluid or when your ovary is literally realeasing the eggs? Does anyone know the answer to this? Anyway i went up to bed and woke OH up! He suggested a few hours later (as he was sleeping) but i pursaded him into it, it was not exactly difficult as he had spat his dummy out early when i said we could only BD every other day! We also BD this morning. The pains had stopped by the time i woke up and have gone now so maybe it was not a bad idea afterall, i dont know. Lets see if we made it this month
I don't know what stage the pains signify, i've only experienced these pains for the first time this month ever! Sounds like youre in with a good chance though. xx
Hi Holly and all, well i looked on the net and apparently the dull achy feeling which is usually on one side/ovary where the egg is going to be released (but can be on both sides) is normally caused by the stretching of the membrane to the ovary. About twenty percent of women experience pain and discomfort during ovulation. The duration and intensity of the pain can vary from one woman to the next. Typically, it will last from a few minutes to 48 hours. In most cases, ovulation pain doesn't indicate any sort of problem. Ovulation pain is also known as mid-cycle pain and mittelschmerz (German for 'middle pain').
The exact cause of ovulation pain is not clear/ It may be caused by something called emerging follicle. Hormones prompt the ovaries to produce around 20 follicles. Each follicle contains an immature egg but only one follicle usually survives to maturity. It is theorized that ovulation pain is caused by the expanding follicle stretching the membrane of the ovary. Another cause could be a ruptured follicle. When the egg is mature and burst from the follicle, this can cause pain and sometimes bleeding.
So there we have it! - Today I have discomfort in my lower abdomen, some slight pain from time to time. The CBFM shows OV peak again today and I took an ebay OPK last night which was positive. I took another one this afternoon and it was still strong but ever so slightly fainter. I dont have anymore OPK's which is a shame as I could test to see if OV had occured, never mind, ill root through the cupboards to see anyway.
I had iit for 3 days then it went, and as I say never had it before
Hope it was just a one off as it's bad enough getting real period pain without getting the same pain in the middle of the month. Ah the joys of womanhood! Someone was havin' a laugh when we were invented
Sammy I don't think the cupboards will tell you whether you ovulated or not
