Haven't been around for a while

My depression got bad again. Probably because this time last year I was pregnant. However my counselling has started and the doctor is referring me to a gynacologist because we haven't been able to conceive again so I'm waiting for the letter now... eek...

Hubby is also being sent for sperm tests so I'm hoping we will have an answer soon maybe...

I'm still far too fat for anyone to do anything if it turns out I need fertility treatment so need to address that. It's so hard when I feel so crap about myself though...

Anyway if you've been sent for these "tests" can you give me any advice as to what happens and timescales... would I have a consultation then come back?

Sorry to hear you’ve been down.
Welcome back though.
I guess you’d be sent for blood work on certain days of your cycle, perhaps scans etc. Good luck with Making improvements for your health. I adopted a ketogenic diet to combat my pcos, I’m not overweight but it regulated my cycle really well. Worth looking up on dietdoctor.com

Hey Pinkz,

im sorry to hear you're having a rough time at the moment *huge hugs*

I don't have a full time line but we saw our fertility doctor in the October 2017 for our initial consultation/chat. In the November and December I had all my tests done (HSG, internal scan, external scan, extra bloods etc - hubby had already done his sample and came back fine) from then, we had to wait until may 2018 to see our consultant to get the results of all our tests. I think the wait time depends on where you are but for us here in the mids, its about 5 months which is a bummer! from that appointment we're now on the ivf path. so will be a 1-3 months wait for it to start.

the tests aren't too bad to be honest. the worst is the HSG, which if i'm honest is just really uncomfortable but over quite quickly. that's the test where they check to see if your tubes are blocked. the rest of the tests - internal and external scans and blood tests - are all very straight forward.

fingers crossed you wont have to wait as long!

I know what you mean about being motivated. my consultant has banned me from exercise (im a long distance runner) and swapped me to light work outs only and since she said that, I have zero motivation to even do anything! im trying hard to force myself to go for a walk or a swim but the struggle is real! Try to find something that takes your interest. doesn't have to be hours sweating it out in the gym or dieting like crazy, maybe a dance class or a zumba class - far more upbeat and fun!

xx

Oh well at least if it takes months it's time to lose more weight yo get closer to being allowed IVF if I need it... just sick of waiting now. It's such a drawn out process

yea it can be a long process but at least you're on it now :) one step at a time in the right direction!

It's just mad how it's like you have to wait 12 months TTC oh actually you got pregnant but the pregnancy was never even located... no physical proof I ever had a viable pregnancy so... wait 12 months from then... and now... well wait for a letter lol... I bet they pray people like me get pregnant in the meantime to put us back on day 1 lol
