I am super itchy on my lower back/hips/belly
It's very ticklish, is this normal?

Also if it is stretching, when can I start to use lotions/oils etc?
Anything you can recommend?

Thanks girls and very happy to be here! Although I still don't believe I'm pregnant. xxx

Hey!
I think the itching is normal as long as not really severe. Generally you have much more blood flow around that area now and so I guess everything is a bit more sensitive. Make sure you wear comfy clothes that don't irritate you.

I think you can start using oils/creams as soon as you like hun. I started using bio-oil from around week 6 I think. I chose that as a friend swore by it in her pregnancy and my mum had some which she'd used on a scar after surgery and it worked wonders, but I know that other people have tried other products and cheaper versions of this and got on well. (I'll prob try a cheaper version when I run out of this bottle). It says on it it can be used from the first trimester and have checked that it's safe. So find something you like and go for it! xxx

Hehe thanks hun.
Still ticklish on my belly and hips.
I actually have some bio-oil at home, I was using it for my stretchmarks on my thighs :( yuck.
Thanks hun, I'll start using it when I get to my parents house xxx

Hi hun please mention the itching to your midwife, probably just stretching but just to be safe definitely mention it to her! xxx

Okeydokey.
It's like a fluttering sensation, makes me ticklish. It could be wind because I'm passing a lot of it at the moment :p
I'm very skinny and people can see my bloated belly very clearly already. I thought I had just put weight on but since finding out I'm pregnant, there's obviously a reason for it :p

Thanks hun xxx

Yeah it doesn't sound like anything to worry about, pregnancy causes all sorts :D could well be the wind too! xxx

It's not even that bad today, TMI but I had a of wind yesterday.
After going to the toilet though, my farting has decreased.

hey hun

ive been really itchy too. i used to have eczema on my hands as a child and a few weeks back it returned - now i know why! also very itchy on the left side of my belly and my biggest symptom so far...............wind! ur not alone!! xxx

I use Bio Oil now twice a day after some recommendations from the ladies on here. It works wonders for itching and the skin! As for the itching being a signal of something going wrong, my mw said that it only really applies if you get really itchy hands and/or feet after 24 weeks.

In addition, I had itchy legs, back, belly etc, and me and baby are just fine :).

If you want Bio Oil, I think ASDA are doing a 200ml bottle for £7 which I'm led to believe is quite a good price.

xxx

The body shop do a cocoa butter stick, which is apparently brilliant through out pregnancy. first because the cocoa butter will stop stretch marks but secondly because the stick is easy to rub on you anywhere and non sticky and kind of like a tummy massage, which is nice
