I need to change the internet security type from WPA2 to WEP in order to connect the xbox.

Its my parents house and their network, we have 2 wireless printers going through the routers as well as everyones laptops and 1 PC.

If I change the security type will peoples automatic connections fail?

I know it shouldnt be a big deal if it does cos they can just reconnect but my parents tend to freak when something goes 'wrong' with IT and theyre too technophobic to be able to give me permission to do it so I just want to get it done under the radar. Any ideas?

You shouldn't need to change the whole thing to WEP hun.

I have PC, laptop, Wii, XBox 360 and 3DS all connected and they all use differant connection types.

The router will have more than 1 connection which you set up Via the item you need to configure. All the info should be on the router ;) It just needs all those types enabled.

its a belkin one

my xbox needs a download to enable to to connect with a WEP2 security system. I can only download by connecting to the internet. catch 22. I havent changed it. No idea how to move forward but Id love to get it connected cos OHs kid has a download code which he bought and cant refund.

Do you know the model? Sorry for the 20 questions but it may be able to handle different connection profiles but then again maybe not.

Using Tapatalk can't see no tickers grrrrr.
