Is this just wishful thinking?

I'm 39 weeks today and for the past 3 days I've had what I think are contractions every 20-30mins for most of the day.

The pain is low in my pelvis, sort of above my lady bits, with really bad back pain and squeezy pulse type sensations just under my ribs.

Also I've had to wear nipple pads today as my boobs decided to just pour straight through my bra and top!

What do you guys think? Start of labour?
I've already lost my plug/sign a few weeks ago, midwife diagnosis none mine.

And the poor dog can't seem to settle anymore, nextdoor who are big dog lovers said "Maybe he knows somethng we don't, dog's are sensitive to things like this and it might be a sign."

Oh yeah forgot to mention,
This is baby 2, and i was induced due to SORM with baby 1.
So I have no real comparison to how it all happened with little Nicky.

Hmmm!! Sounds very promising!! :cheer:

This is my first so I have no idea what to expect either... Might be worth posting in Ask A Mum and see how their labours started?!

I really hope this is it for you! xx

I reckon it sounds promising, at our classes the MW said the first stage can take days. Good luck :)

Sounds like it could be latent labour which can go on for days. Its not established labour till contractions are closer together and consistent in length of time etc.

I had 2 days of latent labour before my first stage proper started and then it was 11.5 hours till LO arrived.

As this is my first I have no idea but just wanted to say I hope this is it for you and good luck! hopefully soon you will be back on here with your birth story!

Yeah sounds like latent labour, as its already been lasting for days hopefully it will change to full on labour soon, try and get as much rest as you can all the hard works probably not too long away! :cheer:
As for the dog he/she is probably picking up on your discomfort and distress from the contractions, I agree with the neighbours though they are so used to reading body language etc they can pick up signals that we don't even know we're giving off. My dog definately knew I was pregnant at least a good couple of weeks before we did he went from sleeping curled up on my lap every night on the sofa to refusing to get on my lap at all and would sleep on DH's lap instead which he'd never done before, he also got really protective of me, I found the lack of cuddles very upsetting at the time but when we found out I was pregnant it all made sense! If im feeling rough he wont leave me alone for a second lying close to me and being protective of me hes very sensitive and in tune to my feelings!

I hope it is too!!

The poor dog is unable to sleep and has started to do his 'business' in the house again.

I'm trying my best to rest but with an 8 year old (DH's nephew) who reckons he 'rules the world' (ADHD and a stinking attitude) staying with us til Saturday and our 'Little Nicky' running riot I don't think I'll get much of it! :wall:

Took Nicky out for a walk today and found that there's something pulling on my left hip, could this be my pelvis opening up more in readiness??

I know wishful thinking!! Lol!

Ooooo, how exciting!

Sounds like this could be it!!!!

Keep us updated!!!

Just got back from my midwife appointment and this is what she's said.

This is things starting,
Don't worry about the pain you WILL know when it's proper labour,
How big was your first? (Me - 6lb 13oz, why?) well this one feels a 'bit' bigger than that. (Me - how much bigger?) 9ib ish! (ARRRRGGGHHHH)
I told her i'm a bit scared about going into labour naturally as Nichola was induced and she said that natural labour doesn't hurt anywhere near as much as induced labour.
Come over to the ward a week Friday and we'll do a membrane sweep, that's if we haven't seen you at home with little one by then!

My head is all over the place now. :( :(

So there you go updated as far as i can for now, hopefully, fingers crossed i'll disappear for a while and that'll be me having baby!

Til then toodle-oo
