usually a girl?

people have been saying to me poeple usually have boys first. and the more i think about it, the more i think of alot of people who have had boys first.

so if this is your second child, was your first a boy?

or siblings, did your mom have a boy first?

id be interested in your opinions :)

i had a girl first, then another girl, then a boy and this ones also a boy
my mum had a girl first then a boy!!

I had a boy and a girl first, girl was 2 mins older

Boy is coming as number 3...

With my mum she had me then my brother :D

Well my first child was a boy, but my Mom and 3 daughters and my older sister had a girl (First Child).....As its the sperm that denotes which sex your baby is, I think a more influential factor on determining the baby's sex is fathers age rather than the order in which the child is born.
Statistically younger fathers born more boys as they have more male sperm. Obviously there are always exceptions to this.

I am the oldest child, and my mum's brother and both my dad's brothers all had girls first. My best friend is the oldest child with a younger brother.

I hope I get a girl, although boys can like ponies too. Indeed many of the world's top showjumpers, jockeys and eventers are men. OH hopes it's a boy, although he is keen to point out that girls can play cricket too. Indeed the England womens' cricket team are world champions. MIL wants a girl because she only has grandsons so far and has a large stock of unused pink wool. My mum doesn't care what it is - it's about bl88dy time one of her children produced a grandchild!

I had a boy first and having another boy now.

To be honest I think its completely down to chance :)

Girl first here :D

Don't know what this one is yet

Hi

My first is a girl and my second i dont know quite yet !
Katrina

This is my 1st and think it's a girl (not positive yet, Doc wasnt sure last time, find out Mon hopefully).
My Sis had girl 1st, boy 2nd, brother had 2 girls.

I am the oldest, my sis next then bruv.
My sis-in-law had girl first.

My friend had girl 1st although with 2nd hubbie had boy 1st.

I think just another old wifes tale, interesting though

This is my first...she's 100% girl!! :cheer:

I have an older bro (first born) my mom then had 3 girls, my dads new wife had a boy first, and DF is an only child. I;m the only one who's bucked the trend out of our family and has a girl first :cheer:

I'm having a little girl & she's my first - My mum had a boy & then a girl - & the same with her mum....

My brother & my otherhalf are in their 30's & both first born's are girls :D so maybe there is some proof that the older the sperm - the more likely it is a girl?!?!?!

Oooh yeah - maybe thats it....should we compare our OH;s ages to the sex of the baby???? My DF is 30 - girl sperm!

I think I read somewhere that if the man is in a stressful job, or going through a stressful time they are more likely to produce girl sperms or something along those lines..........its probably because buy sperms can't take the pressure

If I find the article I'll link it onto here

i think i've read something like that emmylou.

my first was a boy and my second and my third lol!!

my mum had 2 girls and my grandma had 3 girls

thanks guys. it seems like its completely down to chance then :)

Yeah I have read that about stress also. Enviromental factors are also supposed to play a part in sex determination because of the effect it can have on sperm, for example Pilots are more likely to have girls, something to do with exposure to radiation I believe....Smoking has an effect too, as it does on the overall fertility of a man.

My OH was 24 when we concieved our son. He is a Non smoker!

I had 2 girls, don't know what this one is.
My mom had 2 boys then 2 girls, my eldest brother had 2girls then a boy, my other brother has a girl, and my sister has 2 boys then had 2 angel girls
