Is sex ok?

Hi guys! Got to wait for the ok from the hospital for my early scan so don't know how many weeks pregnant i am but i read somewhere else that you can't really have sex for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Does anyone else know if this is true :

Your baby is protected inside your uterus by the amniotic sac so sex is perfectly safe in normal in low-risk pregnancies, so try to relax and enjoy.
The No sex in the first 12 weeks rule is only really applied to women who have a Repeat Pregnancy loss history or other such high risk pregnancies.
