Hi,

I'm a 'newbie' so bear with me! I went for my nuchal fold scan on Thurs only to discover that my dates are a week out! Instead of 12w and 5days, I'm only 11w and 5days. This is not a problem but I am absolutely certain of the day we had intercourse (I also have a 3 year old and a 16 month old so the chances of a bit of 'slap and tickle' seem to be few and far between!!! Sorry if too much info!) Therefore, I am certain there was 7 days between intercourse and conception. Having got two boys already, it would be fabulous if this time I am having a girl. I am aware of the theory about the speed and strength of boy sperm v girl sperm - boy sperm is fast and nippy but a bit weak, girl sperm is slow and plods along but is durable and long lasting!
Am I right in thinking then - that it is extremely unlikely I could be having another boy if the sperm hung around inside for a week before I ovulated and then conceived?????????????????????
Anyone got any stories of similar I'd love to hear them?

Apparently the earlier you have sex whe3n your ovulationg your likeyl to produce a girl, but if you have sex on your most fertile day and the dau after, its meant to be a boy!
Worked for me - i m having a girl this time!

Go by your dates cos your more likely to be right

Well my parents desperately wanted a little boy. She had so many miscarrages and fertility problems she knew that she would only get one chance. She studied the whole theory of slow and fast sperm, girl/boy diets and positions. And....well here I am.

When I got pregnant with my daughter, my partner was in the army at the time was only on leave for one week. I saw him only once on the weekend that I would have ovulated, and I had a little girl. Although having looked at the diets for having a girl, that was very much like my diet at the time, and it was suppose to make the egg less accepting of male sperm.

So I don't think there are any hard and fast rules on whether you have conceived a boy or a girl. You just increase your chances of conceiving one or the other.

I think these theories work. Im hoping for a girl as my hubbys side of the falimly is mailny boys so i want to show them i can do girls
mine was conceived 3 days before i ovulated so fingers crossed!

Thanks for your input guys - interesting to read of others experiences. I will of course be delighted with whatever arrives but it would be a great surprise to have a girl for a change as my husbands family is also dominated by males - this baby (if a boy) would become the 8th Grandson - there are no grandaughters so this would be the last chance for a girl in the family as don't think we'll be having any more!

Hey ho - guess we'll just have to wait for the 20 week scan!

:cheer: I believe your right Nadgos,

My oh is desperate to have a wee boy, he has 5 sisters 2 daughters and 2 gran-daughters  So we looked into the theories too

Then after much trying to conceive ( well over 9 months) we got our boy, but unfortunately I miscarried him on the 9th October last year.

So back to square one...taking cough meds to help the sperm swim, bedding at the right times...etc....Nothing was happening again... So we decided to give up for a while :shakehead: Wait 6months and start again...
Booked holiday's away on the motor bikes, booked for Zante in september... we were going to have a full summer of fun.
.Then my period came on time in Jan 07, we Bedded just at day 7...@SAFE TIME ! ! ! :rotfl: Then we took precautions after that..... :rotfl: What happened  ? ? ?

I got pregnant! ! ! :cheer: :moon: So all our theories... Efforts at TTC and plans for a carefree summer went right out the window.....

I HAVE NO IDEA what this baby will be? ? ? but if the theory is right... It's a GIRL   :rotfl:

Loved and longed for anyway Already..no matter what.. i have a baby growing and i want her/him here safe and sound..

Lv Yvonne xx   :rotfl:
