Silly question I know but is it easier to deliver you second baby?

I had severe pre-eclampsia with my son nearly killed us both and my birth with him was awful. Admittedly he was born in 35 minutes but the pain I endured was terrible the midwives kept telling me I wasn't in labour so I started to panic and then I delivered his head on my own and tore  then I needed foreceps to help get him out!

I am nervous about this time to say the least!!
I know the changes of having p-e again is slim but I am traumatised, anyone had any similiar problems?

Thanks for the help xx

I didn't suffer from P/E but I did tare badly first time. I too was told I was not in labour. I was given tamazapin and pethedine and told to get a good nights sleep because I would deliver the following evening! Yeah right!!

I had a baby in my arms 3 hours later!! I panicked too because I had pain from start to finish....no build up of contractions...just one long one!

On the up side though, it made me far more prepared 2nd time. I decided that I would relax. Also the Labour Ward staff seemed to have more respect for me because I had done it all before. They left me on my own to labour (with my partner) until I told them that I was ready!! and this time they took my word for it!! No drugs and No panicking and a really enjoyable labour! Must have been because I am now doing it again!!! 6 years later!!!

Hope this helps to put your mind at rest!
