is anyone from Southport UK?

Hiya

We have been looking to move up north for a couple of months and have finally decided that Southport could be the ideal location. Seems a good distance for commuting to and from work and family and looks like a lovely coastal town.

Does anyone here actually live there that can tell me a bit of what its like though? I'd love a bit more info on the locals, schools, shopping, are outsiders made welcome? Is there much crime? Just a general view on the place if anyone can help please xxx

Hiya, I live in Crosby which isn't too far away from southport. My oh and I spend most weekends on trips to southport as its just such a nice place to go for lunch and a walk. It has everything you need in the main part. With great transport links to Liverpool and other surrounding places xx

We went up there last Sunday for the day and I really liked it too, seems like a lovely place to visit, I just need to be convinced that its a lovely place to live lol.

I think my main concern is schooling right now as its important to me that my Daughter gets into a decent high school.
