very normal... i think they say between 130 and 150 is normal.. so your baby is perfectly in the middle - an old wifes tale says if the beat is under 140 it'll be a boy and over 140 a girl... i don't know which side your fall into...

Thought the second scan wasnt till 20 weeks...didnt think you could find out so certainly at 16 weeks as them parts are fully developed enough to see till about 18 weeks? or so i read?

ur supposed to have a scan at about 12weeks, the dating scan which is what i am going to have and then another at 20weeks to make sure that the baby is growing ok

MY LO heartbeat has been 144 / 145 for most of my pg, last time it was 144. I asked the m/w about the old wives tale and she said it was complete rubbish too!

My midwives actually all believe it.. they say they have only had a few cases where it has been wrong!!

They say as long as you take the "average" heart rate bpm and not just once per day you can get a good idea.. it was right for me anyway!!!!!

well i found out today that i am just over 17weeks, my LO was moving bout all over that place so i didnt get to see if it was a boy or a girl oh well my next scan is in 3 weeks
