My partner and I have finally been told we will be refered
this was like 2 weeks ago and still no letter
how long did it take you and what was the routine?

with me having swabs and scans in last few months will they re do them too ?
how long for results ?

im nervous xx

Hi hun,

I am not stalking you, promise .But didn't want to read and run.

I cant remember how long it was before we got a letter but it wasn't too long. I think we were seen about 6 weeks after the referral but again, not too sure.
I rang the fertility clinic though to see if the had received the referral-its happened to me too many times where things have not been sent and its delayed everything. I always do this now and sometimes they are able to tell me when my appointment is over the phone.
I shouldn't think they will repeat the swabs. They may do another scan though, I had had 3 when I went and they still wanted another one done by a more experienced sonographer in the IVF department of their hospital.
I would expect that they will send you for a HSG, some bloods such as day 21 (if you have not had those) SA for your OH and eventually they may offer a laparoscopy.
Hope you're not waiting long x

I hope we get our bfp before hand test tomorrow not a good feeling though feel like af on her way xx

Hiya Hun that's great news you got a referral! Hopefully it won't be too long. We got referred about 4 weeks ago and doc told us over the phone that there was an appointment for 25th feb which we can have so that will be about 6 weeks after referral.
I'm nervous about what to expect.
I've already had a scan and bloods to confirm PCOS and hubby has done 2 SA- both came back with low morphology.

I'm wondering what will happen at the first appointment too because we've had a few fx the necessary tests which they would normally do already x

Am really pleased you've started the referral process. I think from going to our gp to getting our first clinic appointment was 6 months. After that everything happened quite fast with any more tests and a diagnosis. I didn't have to repeat swabs or bloods but was referred for scan and the hsg. The whole thing from referral to treatment took about 10 months. But it felt a lot less because we were doing 'something'. Good luck to you xxx

Thanks ladies
its been about three weeks I think since they sorted the referral out

Is a hsg painful? I work in a.care home.you see

I cant wait for bloods and sperm test something is defo a miss and I recon its definitely one of them
not sure how id handle news if partner had something because he enjoys smoking even though hes cut down he wont stop
although he has very limited alcohol Intake a month

we.where trying the ntnp now as he felt too much pressure

im devistated today 12 dpo and bfn on asda four day before
I was sure we had done it this time as we dtd over ovulation when I looked back at the calander

we are in early twenties well im 22 in couple of months and my partner is 23 in a few months
My doctor is so supportive of our decision and distress my partner is trying his best to deal with it but is honestly losing enthusiasm for the subject
I feel like im a failure I cant even have the most natural of things

having a weep in bed with a cup of tea dont want o.h to see me so upset as I agreed not to get obessive again

it feels like a life time
im trying to stay excited for university but finding it all so sad xxx

Honeybear I'm waiting for my referral too, 23rd Jan doctor said he'd refer us but I'm not expecting anything soon to be honest.

Don't worry about your hsg, it's a bit uncomfortable but really was fine. I'd love to see how you get on! So nice to know people are going through the same thing as me, I don't have anyone to talk to about it :( x

I'd say the same about the hsg. No worse than a smear test. I find smears so uncomfortable so I have to ask for the smallest speculum - expressed my concerns at the hsg and they were great, someone has a job which is purely for to talk to you as it happens. Uncomfortable - but over quickly. Xx
