Wow I'm posting questions a lot (sorry to be a pain)

Just wondered how long it takes for infacol to start working, I started using it last night due to Samuel having trapped wind (at least I think it is) I'm giving it at every feed

Also how long do you use it for ?
Many thanks x

Think it needs 3 days to build up properly in their system. Xxx

yeah it took us about 3 or 4 days and when she went 2 days without it in hospital it took another 2/3 to build it up again, you have to use it every feed for best results too :)

Thanks ladies, fingers crossed this will help the night wind issue! X

Fingers crossed it works!

I had the breastfeeding support lady here this morning and she said Tilly has bad wind which is why she won't settle so I'll be doing infacol too from today

I was told by hv to do it every feed up to 12 weeks them to start decreasing it if I "felt brave enough"!

Theo won't settle either and draws his legs up loads, does infacol work then? He's only 4 days old can he have it? Xx

It's suitable from birth han so go for it. It has defiantly eased Henry's pain and he is just startin to be a lot calmer xxxx

oh no ladies..looks like im on the colic gang too.

1-screaming 2-3 times a day - generally after food for about an hr.
2 -Pullin legs in and out and going stiff
3 -Clenching fists
4 -Big trumps - wet poos as opposed to the thicker ones e used to have.

sounds like it huh

Im winding him lots.
Using Dr browns bottles when i FF him

Nothing seems to work
Gonna send Hubby tonight when hes done at wrk.

On a scale of 1-10 how much would u say its improved things people?
Does it effect whether u feel comfortable socialising out n about.

Boo hoo help xxx xxx

When I used it with my son I noticed an improvement within a few days, but the mw at the time told me it takes a good couple of weeks to get into full effect xxx

GG It does sound like colic.

I started giving it to Henry religiously before every feed on Sunday and can say today has been the best day. He has still cried uncontrollably, but only once maybe twice tempe whole day.

His dummy has also helped massively today. He has self soothes with it too, first time he had ever done that. He was grizzly when we needed to sit down for dinner, so put him in his Moses basket with his dummy and within 5 mons he was asleep and he still is now (he was put down about 45 mins ago).

I love infacol and dummies!

Thanks hun, going to see how tonight goes and get the MIL to pick us up some tomorrow. It's horrible to see them in so much pain and cry like that :-( his tummy rumbles so much too! Xx

My lo had a really unsettled night last night and he has always been rubbish at bringing wind up however I know he isnt colic. I thought id try it to see if it helps he has had it before 3 feeds today and can already get wind up easier but it does say 2 to 3 days to really work.

It improved things amazingly for us.

What do you mean socially? It stopped G crying so much which was good.

Or do u mean you'd be worried about using it out and about. My MIL laughs cos the minute the dropper touches G's lips she's silent, and I get about a minute to get my boob out. She knows that taste means food is next!

Xxx

Infacol has been a life saver, I don't know who cried more, my LO or me having to watch her cry x

i meant socially ...as in....at the minute i feel like I darent go anywhere as this colic is so unpredictable n id hate for him t hav an attack of it while. we r visitin someone. iykwim? xxxx

Oh, ok. I have no problems with G now. But honestly it didn't do an awful lot for my nephew, he suffered terribly.

But I guess it depends where your going. Most people IMO are pretty understanding with a LO. Xxx

I'd try and get the infacol on prescription if I was you as well! It gets expensive after a while!
