hi all im in need of some advice i weigh 5 stones 7lbs
im ttc but my doc says i need to gain more weight
what shoulld i be eating pls help

I wouldn't go mad with fatty foods but I would eat lots of carbs- and eat very regularly. You can also get a drink called 'Build-up' which should help good luck XX

Its obvious what you should be eating. Everything fat people aren't supposed to eat!

I wouldn't ask us lot anyway, we all have the figures of supermodels

easier said then done when you are diabetic your advice
is prob the worst i had

then you should have mentioned in your first post,

i dont think any of us girls are qualified in telling you what to eat unless there is maybe someone who has diabetes on here? i wouldnt like to say cos i don't know what you can/can't eat.

Have you consulted your doctor? surely he would of given you a diet plan.. or google?

I'd ask your doctor to refer you to a nutritionist as he is the one who has told you about gaining weight. And if you are diabetic also, then another reason to go back to him and ask.

That way you can do it with help from a professional who'll be sure to tell you the best way to go.

Good luck.

You didnt say you were diabetic!

I was under 6 stone at one time and my dietician told me to eat all the foods fat people eat so actually for someone that thin (without diabeties) my advice was really spot on.

There's no need to openly rate the advice you've been given, she took the time to reply, she didn't give you BAD advice did she? Just maybe not the most helpful to you, but she didn't know you were diabetic.

Did your doctor not suggest the best things to eat to put on weight? I have no idea what would be recommended for diabetics I'm afraid.

You need to speak to your doctor who can refer you to a dietician, what type are you? Carbs are probably the best food for bulking up, I'd watch these build up drinks as they contact sweetners :D

Avocado is good for putting on weight as it has a high calorie content. This is a write up I found on another site about avocados (it was a baby site hence why it says growing babies).

Avocados are sometimes thought of as a vegetable but they are actually a fruit and contain more nutrients than any other fruit. They are also rich in monounsaturated fat, the ‘good type’ of fat which helps prevent heart disease. The high calorie content of avocado makes it a good food for growing babies. Avocado is a great source of the free radical fighting antioxidant vitamin E, which also boosts the immune system. Avocado is easy to digest.

can u eat/do u like nuts? i used to weigh under 6st and my doc told me to eat nuts, as they are high in calories and the fat in them is healthy fat and they hav protein as well.
it did help a bit but tbh i think it was partly my age, i naturally filled out a bit a couple of years ago- and u kno what im sure thats why i got preg. im so so rubbish at taking the pill and all those years i was underweight i was always missing pills, but never got pg until i reached about 8st

both statements are a bit harsh!!

1. You never mentioned that you were diabetic, if you are diabetic you should have a specialist diabetes doctor that will help on meal plans

2. I'm sure a dietician didnt say "fat people"

sorry lou i was having a bad day but i did take your advice
im seeing a dietician on the 14th so sorry again and thank you

They did say "fat people". Ask me before you start questioning me and rolling your eyes thanks!

Lou :)
