Hello Ladies :)

I hope you are all well and enjoyed the weekend (and survived the heat)

I'm a Diabetic and my Consultant officially booked me in for my induction on Friday for the 28th June (eeeep!) I'll be 37 weeks then, nothing is wrong but apparently they prefer to deliver babies with Diabetic Mother's early due to health risks.

I've found now I have an official date, i'm getting a bit more freaked out about the whole process haha...Eeeep.....Anyone have any tips?

I'm not having to finish work a week earlier than planned (finishing this Wednesday and I can't wait!) Sciatica is making walking hard and SO tired!

Also we had a Maternity Bump Photoshoot at the weekend - what do you think of this picture?

Let me know how you guys are : )

Steph xx

Bring LOTS of things to do, inductions are often slow and dull processes. Check your hospital has a ball for you to bounce on as that will help move things along. Be aware that inductions on a false labour can and sometimes do end in c-section so if you need to make any changes to your home or lifestyle, it's better to do so now so things become easier when baby arrives. Good luck, how exciting!

Lovely photo.

I was induced as my waters went but nothing else happened. I was booked for induction anyway the following week as I had GD.

I took loads of things to do as was prepared for it to take a while but I started the drip at 11am and he was born just before 4pm, so not long at all and I used nothing that I had taken! As Ididn't realise how fast it would be I was a bit unprepared for how suddenly it hurt and I might have asked for more pain relief, but having said that it was only the last hour that was awful andd as soon as he was out I was fine and up and walking about, so maybe not a bad thing afterall. I had gas ans air for most of it and then topped that up with some pethadine towards the end when I was struggling. Go in open minded to pain relief.

Good luck!
